Sensing her gaze, he glanced back at her.

background?”
“That's Dr. Simon Finch, the youngest expert on the team. He might look young, but he’s almost 30.”
“30 is still pretty young.”
Ariana sighed. Even in medicine, things were so competitive. She had a long way to go if she wanted to restore
hier family’s name.
While Ariana was lost in thought, Simon walked over. He smiled at Emily, then turned to Ariana. “Ms. Torrey, |
need to see your hand, if that’s alright?”
“Sure,” Ariana agreed, offering her hand.
Seeing the scars, Simon was extra gentle as he moved it around. She felt no discomfort, even though it was a
simple exam.
“Does that hurt?”
“No.”
“That's good.”
