Emily couldn’t stand it anymore. She reminded him, “Mr. Lodge, | thought you did not want to hear anything
about Ms. Torrey anymore.”
“Yeah. | don’t need to know anything about her. I'm just concerned that she might stir up trouble during my time
at the company and use it against me.” He sounded indifferent and reluctant to have anything to do with Ariana.
Emily could only grunt in agreement.
They heard a knock on the door. Emily answered the door and found Fiona standing there in a monochrome
striped dress.

Fiona fidgeted at the door without stepping in.

“Mr. Lodge, it was Mrs. Lodge Senior's orders. She toldto cto the office because you have a dinner
tonight.
Fiona hung her head, flustered.
Brian looked upset. Usually, he would show up to work events with Evelyn by his side. He had never taken any
other woman as his plus-one.
Belinda had clearly sent Fiona to the office in a ploy to replace Evelyn.

have a daughter too, but | don’t know her name. Is that you Fiona?”
“I...” Fiona lowered her head and bit her lip with a nervous look. She was no daughter of the Piper family, she
was just a country bumpkin.
Still, she couldn't freely admit to her identity in front of Evelyn.
“No, you got the wrong person. Fiona is Ariana’s cousin,” Emily finally clarified Fiona’s origins.

me. You don’t look like Ariana at all. As for your clothes...”
Fiona explained in a hurry, “I picked this outfit from what was left in Ariana’s closet....”
