Chapter 345

Briana looked at him indifferently, coldly saying, “Hector’s recent endorsement s and new shows have been cancelled. Did you do it?”

Upon hearing this, Maxim’s eyes also turned cold, “Are you questioning me for his sake?”

“Answer my question, is it or is it not?!”

“Yes.”

Even though she had known the answer for a long time, Briana still felt a tightne ss in her chest the moment she heard it.

She bit her lower l*p, articulating each word deliberately, “Why did you have to do this? I al ready explained to you. I just had a meal with Hector. Why did you have to ruin his career?!”

Maxim’s expression was tense, his eyes full of coldness.

“Briana, who exactly is your boyfriend? Are you really planning to argue with me over a stranger?”

“He was my friend, when will you learn to respect me?! If you didn’t trust me, wh y did you suggest starting over?!”

This remark completely ignited Maxim’s anger. He sneered, each word dropping like shards of ice.

“Trust? Did you ever trust me?”

Whenever he had contact with Kiley, she felt as if he had done something shame ful to her.

He was merely teaching Hector a lesson, and she couldn’t wait to rush up to him and confront him, as if he were an unforgivable sinner.

Seeing the coldness and anger in Maxim’s eyes, Briana closed her eyes and slow ly said. “Indeed… ever since we got back together, we have never trusted each o ther. We start to suspect each other at the slightest sign of trouble. Is there any need to continue such a relationship?”

As her words fell, the emotion in Maxim’s eyes disappeared like a receding tide, becoming incredibly deep in an instant.

“Since the day we got back together, you’ve been wanting to say this, haven’t yo u?”

Briana took a deep breath and said coldly, “Maybe we really aren’t right for eac h other, let’s break up.”

The study was suddenly plunged into a suffocating coldness, and the temperatu re quickly dropped to freezing point, making one feel as if they were in a world of i ce and snow

After a long while, Maxim’s cold voice finally sounded.

“You finally spoke your mind.”

Briana pursed her l*ps, looking at Maxim as she spoke, “Yes, ever since we got t ogether, I’ve felt that we’re not right for each other. Continuing like this is torture for both of us.”

Coldness filled Maxim’s eyes, his expression mocking as he said, “So who are yo u suitable with, Hector? It seems I’m the one standing in your way.”

Briana frowned, “Can you stop always dragging others into this?! This is between the two of us.”

“Fine, let’s not bring others into this. I won’t agree to a breakup.”

Maxim met her angry eyes coldly, “I have work to do, please leave.”

Briana looked at him, “Maxim, when I said we’re breaking up, I was informing yo u, not seeking your approval. I’m going to pack my things and leave immediatel y. This is the end for us!”

After speaking, Briana immediately turned around and left.

The moment the study door closed, Maxim swept all the documents on the tabl e onto the fioor, his expression terribly gloomy.

Briana quickly packed her things and drove back to Elm Bay overnight.

Knowing that she had argued with Maxim, Melody rushed over to accompany her .

“Hadn’t we already made up before? Why are you suddenly making a fuss about breaking up?”

Briana sat on the sofa, her expression faint as she said, “It wasn’t sudden. The m oment I got back together with him, I guessed that we would still break up.”

She had been able to live in peace with Maxim for three years in the past because she was willing to tolerate Maxim without any boundaries. But now, whenever she had confiicts with Maxi m, she was unwilling to back down, always confronting him head– on. No matter how much affection she had, it would gradually be exhausted in t hese endless arguments.

Melody furrowed her brow, “Are you sure you really want to break up?”
