Bert stood there, stunned. He turned to look at the young face in front of him as if realizing something. His throat
felt a bit dry, and he asked, "What did she say?"
"She said that she really likes you, and it's worth doing all this for someone you care about."
There was a boom. It was not an explosion, nor was there any damage. It was the sound of a corner of Bert's heart
collapsing.
His tall body swayed, and a beautiful little face flashed in front of his eyes. Then, he instantly fell into a short period
of darkness.
