Scarlett had just walked into the hall when she bumped into her coach. She had to stop and greet him.

"Do you know Raymond?" "Yeah." She didn't want to say anything more.

The coach smiled. "Well, he's been practicing here for seven or eight years. If | had known that you knew each other, | would have arranged for you to practice together." Scarlett was surprised. She had been practicing here since college. It had been almost ten years.

Yet she and Raymond had never met each other here before. Maybe this was fate.

"He should not like to practice with others." Scarlett said, "I have something to do. I'll leave now." She nodded at her coach and walked outside.

When she walked out of the boxing gym, it was still raining, and the sky was cloudy.

Her umbrella was in the cloakroom. The rain was not heavy, so Scarlett didn't want to turn back to get the umbrella. She gripped her bag and stepped into the rain.

The parking lot was just 1000 feet away from here.

However, the rain becheavy when she was on the way there, so Scarlett had to run into the corridor of the apartment building next to her.

There was a 24-hour convenience store, and a few young people were buying cigarettes inside.

One of the boys seemed to be 16 or 17 and was wearing the uniform of a nearby high school. He bought a carton of cigarettes and cout.

Scarlett watched the three of them sitting next to the trash can and lighting cigarettes.

They were young but smoked skillfully.

The rain was pouring down and wet Scarlett's shoes.

She glanced down and took a step back.

The smell of smoke from the boys next to her was strong. Scarlett raised her eyebrows slightly, tilting her head and watching them smoke.

After a while, she walked over. "Does it taste good?" The boy who bought the cigarettes narrowed his eyes and looked at her for a moment. Seeing Scarlett's face, the boy was stunned. The menacing look in his eyes disappeared. He murmured, "No." Scarlett smiled. "You seem to be enjoying it." Boys at this age were naughty and vain.

Scarlett was smiling and didn't seem to be provoking them. Yet what she said was meaningful. Sof the boys inevitably misunderstood that Scarlett was taunting them.

The three boys looked at each other. The boy who bought the cigarettes asked, "Want to try it?" Scarlett looked down at the cigarette he handed over with a nod. "Thanks." She held the cigarette with two fingers and put it between her lips as they did. As she reached out to borrow a lighter, a boy had raised his hand to light her cigarette.

Scarlett glanced at him, lowering her head.

She coughed.

The smoke almost choked her.

Scarlett hurriedly took the cigarette out of her mouth." Thank you, but I think it may not suit me." She pressed the cigarette on the trash can.

The boy who lit the cigarette asked her, "Are you unhappy?" Scarlett smiled without answering. She turned around and walked into the convenience store.

When she cout, the boys had finished smoking cigarettes and were ready to leave.

Scarlett called out to them. "Hey, smoking is not good for your health. Maybe you guys can try these" She threw the boxes of mint candies that she had just bought at them.

The three boys subconsciously caught the boxes. Seeing the mint candies, one boy snorted.

Scarlett just curved her lips, ripped open the package, and threw a mint candy into her mouth. She then held the umbrella that she had just bought, walking into the rain and mist.
