The fireworks had been on display for about half an hour.
When the night resumed its usual silence, Shea held Layla's hand while Adrian held Hayden's and they were about to return to the living area.
"Mommy, | want to light fireworks again tomorrow!" Layla said to Avery.

"Adrian, are you tired? If you are, go get srest! The house has been noisy for the entire day, and you did not even have a nap." Avery wanted to wait for Elliot to return.
She looked at the time. Elliot has been out for almost forty minutes.
She did not know when he was returning.
"I'll stay with you," Adrian said heartwarmingly. "You're waiting for Elliot, right? Why has he not returned yet so late at night? Do you want to call him?"
