Avery had told her that Hayden was brilliant at work but was hardly capable of taking care of himself. Since he invested much of his energy into work, he always had servants taking care of him.

Since everyone was to spend a night in a tent for the team-building event, Avery was quite worried that Hayden might not be able to sleep or eat well.

Shelly understood Avery's concerns. People raised in wealthy families tended to be quite bad at caring for themselves.

Courtney could not cook or do any house chores either, and since Hayden grew up in a much wealthier household than Courtney, Shelly would not be surprised to discover that Hayden had little to no life skills.

Avery mentioned that Hayden could not take spices and preferred plainer food that was not overly seasoned, yet Shelly noticed that they were having barbeque.

The meal was probably to cater to the tastes of the majority of the employees, so there were not many dishes that Hayden would like.

Shelly glanced around and saw there were glasses of cocktail shrimp. She immediately put on a pair of gloves and started peeling the shell off of the shrimp.

Everyone watched her peeling the shrimp and dared not interrupt her.

Shelly peeled three shrimps in a row, and after she finished, she handed the plate to Hayden.

She remembered that Hayden loved eating shrimp, but his housekeeper at hhad always peeled them before stir-frying the shrimp.

When Hayden saw the peeled shrimp that Shelly handed to him, he felt touched and could not quite resist the feeling of being treasured.

"Your mom said you don't like sour stuff, so I won't dip this in the dipping sauce," Shelly whispered.

"What else did my mom tell you?" Hayden picked up a shrimp and put it in his mouth.

The shrimp meat was sweet and tender, exactly like this moment they shared.

"Your mom was worried that you would not eat well," Shelly said as she continued to peel shrimp for him.

"You don't have to listen to everything my mom says. I'm not that spoiled Hayden felt that as a man, he should not let a woman take care of him, so he took a shrimp from the plate and fel to peel it himself. However, he failed to peel it properly and ended up getting pricked by the shrimp's shell.

Despite the pain, he did not make a sound and simply paused to stare at his finger for a couple of seconds.

Shelly was sitting next to him, and when she saw the blood well up, she immediately took the shrimp from his hand.

"Don't move, I'll put a band-aid on it for you!" Shelly quickly took out disinfectant, antiseptic powder, and a band-aid from her backpack.

Everyone was shocked and did not know what to say.

In their minds, Hayden had always been a high and mighty figure with extraordinary abilities and a cold demeanor.

Though the executives occasionally had meals with Hayden, they had never seen this kind of situation before because Hayden had never peeled a single shrimp.

et After Shelly bandaged Hayden's finger, she said, "Letpeel them for you. I'm quick at peeling shrimp. You shouldn't let your finger touch water, in case it gets infected." Hayden felt a little embarrassed and wanted to explain that it was just an accident.

"Let's eat!" Shelly quickly peeled another shrimp and placed it onto his plate.

He looked at the shrimp on his plate and ultimately decided to keep his mouth shut.

After the heartwarming lunch, the vice president spoke to Hayden, "Mr. Tate, your finger is injured. You can just give a speech for the afternoon activities, and you don't need to participate. You can go to the nearbymercial street with Ms. Taylor instead." Hayden wanted to say that it was just a small cut and that his hand was not broken, but then he thought of Shelly.

He brought Shelly along, so he could not treat her like an employee.
