"I want to cuddle for a while, is that okay?" Usually, when they were together, there was always a sense of distance because they were not truly familiar with each other.
Their children had been what brought them together all along and since the children were not around at the moment, Shelly wanted to treasure this moment of them being together. Worried about potentially hurting her, Hayden shifted their positions, allowing her to rest on top of him and Shelly blushed shyly. "Hayden, if I didn't initiate the kiss just now, would you have kissed me?" Hayden buried his head into the crook of her neck, and she could feel his breath on her skin.
She desperately wanted to know the answer to this question.
After a few seconds of silence, Hayden replied, "I was considering if doing so in this environment was appropriate." Shelly could not help but laugh. "Real couples can do it anywhere." She did not have the courage to finish her sentence, worrying that it would make ke her sound like she knew a lot if she did; in reality, her romantic experience was limited to Hayden and no one else. "Apart from the environment, I was also concerned about contraceptive measures," he added.
Shelly blushed. "Are you that confident that I would be willing to... be intimate with you?" Hayden looked up and studied her face. "I thought you said you like me?" Shelly recalled saying such a thing.
"You won't play hard to get with me, right, Shelly?" he asked.
She chuckled. "Do I look like I have the patience for that?" Hayden sighed a breath of relief. "I need a wife and my children need a mother might not know much about you yet, but I'm confident that we will form a pretty great family. What do you think?" Shelly listened closely to every word he said and stared into his eyes, knowing that Hayden was proposing to her.
