Chapter 333

Thaddeus‘ eyes widened with surprise. “What do you mean?”

“Two days ago, there was an internal announcement at the hotel. President Ashbourne has been

recalled to the K Group headquarters, stepping down from her role as the General Manager of the K

Orld Hotel. Her new role at headquarters will be decided later.”

“And the hotel? What will happen to it?”

“An executive from the K Orld Hotel’s overseas branch will be reassigned here, to take over the

Élmsworth’s K Orld Hotel.”

The executive secretary thought of Evadne’s daily hustle and the unforgettable time spent working with

her, a smile of satisfaction surfaced on her face. “In less than a year, President Ashbourne has

delivered outstanding results, leading this once declining hotel back on track. She has motivated the

hotel staff and achieved a performance that hasn’t been reached in the past ten years. Chairman

Emeric is very pleased with President Ashbourne’s work, so her recall is expected. With her

capabilities, she deserves to work on a bigger stage and should not be confined to this small place. It

would be a waste.” Thaddeus nodded in agreement.

Indeed, his woman was incredibly smart, capable of working miracles. Managing a mere hotel was

beneath her talents.

Wait! That was not the issue here!

The issue was why didn’t Evadne tell him about this huge matter?

“Where can I find President Ashbourne?” Thaddeus asked, his voice filled with anxiety.

The executive secretary couldn’t help but laugh, “How would I know where President Ashbourne is? Mr.

Thaddeus, you are powerful. You’re not worried about not finding President Ashbourne, are you?”

Thaddeus felt a pang of loss.

He was worried, so worried that he felt his hair turning white!

Skyrim, the K Group Headquarters.

The K Group’s towering skyscraper was located in the most bustling and expensive CBD of Skyrim, a

landmark of the city.

At this moment, it was three in the afternoon, employees from all departments were peeking out of their

offices, watching a line of executives in suits hurrying to the ground floor.

The news that the Ashbourne family heiress was going to visit had spread throughout the entire

corporation earlier in the day, everyone knew, even the janitors!

“Wow! What a grand display! Are all these people here to welcome the Ashbourne family heiress?”

“Even though she is Chairman Emeric’s daughter, she isn’t an executive within the K Group, is it

necessary to give her such a high–profile reception?”

“I heard that Ms. Evadne has been managing the Elmsworth K Orld Hotel for less than a year, and the

hotel has been thriving under her management, with performance increasing by more than tenfold!

Chairman Emeric has noticed her outstanding abilities at work, and it’s very possible that Ms. Evadne

will be working within the corporation in the future!”

“Hmph, who knows if the results were really achieved by her? Maybe it was President Ashbourne who

was helping behind the scenes. A young woman in her early twenties, can she play with jewels, and

design, but manage a corporation? Can she really handle it?”

“Enough, stop talking. She’s here!”

On the ground floor of the building, the executives held their breaths, standing in two lines, dressed in

matching black suits.

This was a K Group tradition. On important days, or when receiving important figures like Chairman

Emeric, all participating executives must wear the corporation’s uniform suits, with the K Group emblem

pinned on their chests, looking strict and formal.

The Rolls–Royce stopped at the main entrance, Jason got out first, respectfully opening the car door.

The first person to step out of the car was a tall, impressive man. It was President Cassius.

“Good afternoon, President!” Two executives who had come out to welcome him bowed deeply.

Cassius nodded and turned to extend his hand, a doting smile on his lips.

“Evadne.“”

“Coming.”

After a sweet response, a pair of slender legs in black and gold high heels stepped out of the car, the

black skirt swaying, her skin pale as snow. Any man who saw these legs would feel his heart racing.

Evadne placed her hand in her brother’s palm as she stepped down.

“Good afternoon, Miss Ashbourne!”

Evadne nodded slightly, “Sorry for keeping you all waiting. It’s quite cold outside, let’s go in.”

The moment the siblings appeared in everyone’s sight, they were like a beautiful sight to behold,

evoking waves of admiration

“She’s so beautiful. The Ashbourne family heiress is a thousand times more beautiful in person than on

TV!”

“Indeed. Even though President Cassius is such a handsome man, I only have eyes for the lady of the

Ashbourne family. She’s so beautiful that even women would fall in love with her!“”

Initially, some people had been skeptical of Evadne. But the moment she appeared, without even doing

anything, she had already won over a group of

fans.

She was truly a beauty that could make any man swoon.

“Welcome, Miss Ashbourne!”

The executives on both sides bowed in unison as Evadne and Cassius walked in together, their gaze

fixed forward.

“Would you like to take a tour of the corporation first, to get familiar with the environment?” Cassius

turned his handsome face towards Evadne, asking softly with a warm smile.

“That’s not urgent. I want to see the office you prepared for me first.” Evadne squinted her eyes,

playfully poking her brother’s arm when no one was looking.

Cassius turned his gaze towards her, his eyes warm and gentle, “Alright.”

Cassius led Evadne towards her office, with only Jason following behind.

“Oh dear! My dear nephew and niece!”

The siblings halted in their steps, turning around to see who had called them.

A middle–aged man with a polished appearance and a wide grin strode towards them, followed by his

secretary and several subordinates.

“Oh, Uncle Bevis. Evadne greeted him with a languid smile.

The genial man with an air of wealth was none other than Emeric’s only younger brother, Bevis

Ashbourne, who currently held the position of vice–chairman of K Group.

While Bevis wasn’t as strikingly handsome as his brother, he still possessed a dignified allure. Unlike

his brother’s stern demeanor that gave off an overwhelming aura, Bevis was considerably more

approachable, always sporting a pleasant smile.

“My dear niece! You’ve grown more and more beautiful over the years!” Bevis exclaimed as he looked

at Evadne, his face lighting up with joy.

“You’ve gotten younger and more vibrant over the years, Uncle Bevis.” Evadne responded politely.

“Oh, Evadne, you’re just as sweet as when you were a child!”

Turning to Cassius, Bevis asked, “So, are you showing Evadne her new office? I heard from your father

that she is going to start working with the group soon. Which department? What position? I am not too

busy today. How about I show her around to familiarize herself with the place?”

Cassius responded calmly, “We’ll leave it to my father’s discretion. I trust he will provide Evadne with a

suitable position where she can showcase her talents. We’ll let you know as soon as we have any

news.”

“Ah, alright. I’ll be looking forward to it.”

Suddenly, Bevis remembered something, “Oh, by the way, my daughter Dolores has prepared a gift for

you. It’s already in your office. You should check it

out.”

Dolores was Bevis’s only daughter and Evadne’s cousin. Even though they hadn’t seen each other in a

while, their relationship was still close.

“Is that so? Dolores is so thoughtful.” Evadne lifted the corner of her lip, her smile ambiguous.

They continued to make their way towards the office.

“Miss Evadne, what are those?” Jason asked, pointing in the direction of the office entrance.

As they got closer, they could see two enormous wreaths placed at the entrance of Evadne’s office. A

few passing employees pointed and whispered, stifling their giggles.

“Uncle Bevis, is this your daughter’s way of welcoming Evadne to the company?” Cassius asked, his

gaze icy as he turned to Bevis.

Bevis tried to deny it, but the signature on the wreaths was unarguably his daughter’s. He had no

choice but to laugh it off, “Ah, Dolores, always so straightforward! You know, when she was studying

design in Oldrun, they have this tradition of giving wreaths for celebrations.”

“But we’re not in Oldrun now. If she keeps acting like this, wouldn’t people think she lacks common

sense?” Cassius retorted coldly.

Evadne, however, was surprisingly tolerant, “We should be understanding. Everyone has their own

beliefs and traditions. The K Group consists of thousands of employees. We can’t possibly cater to

everyone’s preferences.”

Cassius nodded in agreement, “Evadne is right.”

Bevis, however, was far from pleased. His daughter was also part of the Ashbourne family and had an

equal standing in the company as Evadne. He was irked by their high–handed attitude.

“Mr. Jason, could you please remove these wreaths?” Evadne asked lazily, “Uncle Bevis, don’t get me

wrong. I appreciate Dolores’s gift. I just don’t want her to lose face because of her poor handwriting.”

The subordinates behind them tried hard to suppress their laughter, while Bevis’s smile turned rigid.

Once inside the office, Evadne sat down on the couch, her arms crossed, ‘Dolores is itching for a fight,

even before I officially join the group. She’s so eager to make trouble.”

Cassius sighed, “She’s been competing with you since‘ kindergarten, and she’s never won. If I were

her, I would’ve given up long ago. But she’s resilient, never backing down.”

“If she dares to cross the line and harm my interests, I won’t consider our familial ties, Evadne said, her

eyes darkening.

and

Cassius nodded, “You’ve always been like this, never one to back down. But remember, this is a

different battlefield. You need to tread carefully. Especially Uncle Bevis. Now he had a faction within the

corporation that supported him, and Dad always indulged him because he’s his only brother. You’ll

have to be more careful dealing with him in the future.”

“I understand.”

Evadne’s eyes, as deep and tranquikas a serene lake, flashed with resolve. “If they stay in line, respect

their place, I won’t mistreat them. We all can live happily. But if they harbor any malicious intentions,

they can’t blame me for being cold and ruthless, shattering his decades–long reputation.”

Cassius squinted his eyes, “Little lady, you talk big, don’t forget that Uncle Bevis is the Vice Chairman

of the Corporation.”

Evadne arrogantly lifted her delicate chin, “Humph, my dad is the Chairman! Who should be afraid of

whom?”

“By the way, have you told Thaddeus about you leaving K Orld Hotel?” Cassius suddenly asked.

Evadne blinked her eyes and touched her red lips lightly, “Why should I tell him? Who does he think he

is?”

Cassius was slightly taken aback and gave a wry smile, “True.”

Just then, Evadne’s phone started to vibrate.

Her heart twitched, hoping it wasn’t him. Wouldn’t it be ironic if the man she was just talking about

suddenly called?

Evadne took out her phone.

On the screen, surprisingly, was Avery’s name.

Cassius glanced at the phone screen without any expression, his eyebrows slightly furrowed.

He would rather the caller was Thaddeus, not the name currently displayed..

“Ave?” Evadne answered, her tone neutral.

“Evadne, I’m in Skyrim.”

Over the phone, Avery’s voice was so gentle and affectionate, accompanied by the unique sound of the

sea breeze in Skyrim, deep and full of intense affection, “I believe, you must be in Skyrim too. Is it

convenient for you? I’d like to meet you.”

Evadne glanced at her watch, somewhat surprised, “Now?”

“It doesn’t matter if you are not available now. I can wait for you. No matter how long it takes, I’m willing

to wait.”
