Fabian instantly understood that Maria's anger stemmed from somewhere else, and she was here to vent. He calmly summoned a
housekeeper to clean up the mess and poured himself another glass.
Then he casually ate his peanuts and asked, "What did she do this time? You know how she is. She's a young lady with a temper,
so you must be more patient with her."
"Be more patient? Then why don't you do it? That niece of yours is getting more unbearable now. She would throw a small fit back
then because she wanted to eat. She has started to answer back to everything | say while also slamming cups.
“She even questioned me, saying | didn't consider how she felt when | was in her house!" As Maria explained her situation, rage
began to pulse through her veins. She wondered if any of the maids had seen what had happened.
"Oh? She said that?" Fabian raised his eyebrows and sipped his wine. He was a little surprised by what he heard.

"Who else would've said that? Me? What is she rambling about? With how she looks, if it weren't for her father's sake, no one would
even take a second glance at her! What self-esteem is she talking about?!" All this complaining made Maria thirsty, and she
reached out to take a sip of her husband's wine.
At this point, Fabian began to frown as he snatched back his wine glass. "Don't say that. If it weren't for her father's sake, you
wouldn't have been shunning her like this, would you? Also, you're free to talk about her body, but Tasia is not ugly. She looks just
like my sister!"
Speaking of which, Fabian's sister was a beauty queen back then. When Anastasia was born, she looked very much like her mother.
However, as she grew older, the fats in her body increased as well. Now, she was covered with a layer of meat, squishing her facial
features together.
"So what? Her fat ruined everything!" Maria said, unconvinced. "From what | see, our baby, Ree, is prettier than her!"
Fabian paused with the wine glass in his hands as if he were planning to say something before changing his mind. Maria shot him a
look. "What's wrong? Do you disagree?"
He rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Of course, | think Ree is pretty!"
"Exactly!" After getting the answer she wanted, Maria felt a little better. "Speaking of which, where is she? Is she home? | haven't
seen her for the past two days."
"We haven't been hfor the past two days. You're occupied with that miracle doctor of yours while I'm busy bidding on a new
project. As for Ree, it seems like she's off doing sexperiments again. We're all too busy nowadays to even see each other."
"Who's to blfor that? Isn't it all for you and our family? If you were more like Cameron, | wouldn't have to be so busy running
around like this. | would lie at hpeacefully," she could not help but complain.
Cameron was competent. He managed to climb into such a position at such an age. It was a pity that his wife died so early on.
Otherwise, she would have been happily enjoying her life with her husband.

In the past, government servants were seen as being on a lower tier compared to scholars, farmers, business people, and
merchants. Now, it seemed like they were on top of the pyramid.
If Maria were a Secretary's wife, countless people would try to curry favor with her. Instead, she was stuck with having to see if she
was worthy of joining the wives of wealthy families, drinking afternoon tea by herself, and having to stand in the corner for group
photos.
To be frank, with her family background of being the Moores, if it weren't for Cameron, she might not even be worthy of standing
on the sidelines.
She felt more resentful the more she considered this. She was no worse than those noblemen's wives. Why did she not marry
someone better?
"What do you mean? Are you looking down on me? Have you ever stopped to think about what Cameron thinks of you?" Fabian
immediately lowered his darkened face.
