Chapter 1433
"How can | not be angry at what she said?!"
Fabian snapped, pointing at the empty doorway as rage pulsed through his veins. He wondered when his well-behaved and sensible
daughter becso impertinent.
‘Isn't it too late for her to still be going through her rebellious stage?’
"Ree, she..." Maria paused.
She wanted to say that Rhea was telling § the truth, but she dared not continue.
Ultimately, Maria sighed and continued, "Ree is still young. There are many things she doesn't understand. You shouldn't hold it
against her."
"Am | holding it against her?! I..."
In the end, Fabian plopped on his seat with a pant and did not continue.
At this point, Maria had no choice but to change the subject.
"You're not usually like this. Why are you so on edge today? Haven't things been going well? Isn't it good if we all just live our days
happily? Why did you pick a fight with our daughter?"

"Well?!"
He yelled as he reached out to drink, only to find the glass empty.
Just with one word, Maria knew that something had happened. She quickly helped fill up the glass and handed it to him.
"What's wrong?"
Fabian did not reply as he gulped down the water in silence. His face had turned gloomier than before.
Seeing her husband like this made Maria's heart grow heavy.
After thinking for a moment, she asked, "Is it the project?"
Fabian had been busy with the project's bidding in recent days.
Just a while ago, he seemed to be in an elevated mood, saying everything was going well, and he could not wait to lay back and
wait for the money to fall from the sky.
Now, it seemed like he had tun into a wall.
‘That can’t be the case.Didn't Ron agree to the project already?’ This wasn't something anyone could pass around singlehandedly.
With such a foolproof contract, what else could happen? What she said seemed to have hit a sore spot.
Fabian immediately reached out for the wine glass, and Maria quickly poured swine into it.
Then he emptied the glass in a blink of an eye and gritted his molars before gloomily saying, "Cameron doesn't want to meet me!"
"He doesn't want to meet you? What do you mean?"
Maria did not understand.
"l went to his office to look for him, but he wasn't there. Then | headed to his house, and he wasn't there either. One of the
housekeepers said he hadn't been hfor the past few days," he explained bitterly.
"I'm afraid he’s going to change his mind. The day of the bidding is nearing, and I'm just hoping he doesn't pull the rug."
Since the bidding day was near, Fabian wanted to see Cameron and set the foundation so he could feel more at ease.
However, Cameron was always away whenever Fabian reached out to him.
Fabian even went to Cameron's office to find him, only to be stopped by the front desk telling him that Cameron was too busy to
see anyone these days.
“Too busy? He is just avoiding me! He must have changed his mind.
Who knows what he'll do now!” "How can that be?! He has already promised you, hasn't he? Didn't you say everything was going
well?!"
Maria did not know much about business deals, but hearing that Cameron had agreed before this, she wondered why he would

"Besides, the miracle doctor | found is helping cure Tasia.Ron owes us now."
Fabian heard his wife's words and raised his eyes to look at her.
"Huh? The doctor cured Tasia?"
"No, but soon! Medicinal herbs take time. We'll have to wait for the effect to kick in," Maria muttered.
Although she felt that it was working, she wasn't quite sure.
It was in a spur of a moment that she mentioned it.
When her husband asked again, she dared not promise anything.
"Wait? How long do | have to wait?! | think Cameron is going back on his words!"
After taking a few more sips, Fabian stood up abruptly.
"No, | have to go to find him again!"
"If he doesn't want to see you, where else can you go to look for him? Didn't you say he hadn't been hfor the past few days?
Where will he be if he isn't home? In his office?" Maria questioned.
"I heard that there's a woman in the picture recently,.." Fabian slowly said after pondering for a moment.
