The following morning, Maria washed up and had breakfast before delicately doing her make-up.She was about to leave the house
to go shopping and meet up with her friends. She had been so busy with Anastasia’s matters that she had no tto hang out with
her friends.
It had tempted her for along time, and they finally agreed to hang out.
‘I'm so going to have a good ttoday!” With that thought in mind, she picked up her bag and headed to the door.
Just as she was about to leave, she heard hurried footsteps, and soon, she watched as someone quickly entered through the door.
Once she looked at the person, joy flashed across her face.
"Ree! You're back!"
"Yeah," Rhea responded and ascended the stairs.
"Ree, you're not returning to the institute anymore, are you? Will you be staying hlonger this time?" Maria asked.
She had grown accustomed to this side of Rhea and just turned to follow her daughter upstairs. Rhea did not reply and just walked

"I saw the news. Something happened to a professor from your institute, right? Will you guys continue with the experiment, or will
it stop? | think you should use this chance to rest. Look at you. You've lost a few pounds again!"
Maria spoke by herself, not bothered that Rhea was not replying.
When they arrived at Rhea’s room, Rhea hurried to her desk. Her expression changed after her gaze swept across the table.
"Where's my pen holder?"
"What was that?"
Maria blinked, not understanding her question.
"My pen holder! The one | put on my desk!" Rhea roared as she slapped her palm on the top of the table.
Her expression looked terrible at this moment.
It scared Maria to see her daughter this way.
She stuttered, "I-l don’t know."
"How could you not know?"
Rhea hit the table with her palm desperately.
If she could, she would crack the table with her bare hands.
After that, she rummaged around her room frantically for her pen holder.
From the table to her cabinets, drawers, and even the bookshelves behind.
Her room was a mess.
"I placed it here! How could it go missing? Did you cinto my room when | wasn’t around? Did you touch my things?"
Rhea yelled like a mad woman while searching her room for the pen holder.
Maria was frightened because she had never seen this side of Rhea.
Although Rhea had been hostile and distant toward others and looked like a robot with no emotions, she had never broken out in
such a rage.

"N-No! | didn’t! Since you toldnot to, | wouldn't dare touch your things."
After a pause, Maria added softly, "lI have no idea what pen holder you're talking about.Tellabout it.Is it expensive? I'll buy one
that's even more expensive for you.Cheer up, Ree!"
"Buy?!"
Rhea could not find the pen holder even after rammaging around her room, so she looked up and sneered.
"Do you think you can buy everything in this world with your stupid money?"
Maria was upset about being questioned in such a manner.
Tears filled her eyes quickly as she said aggrievedly, "Ree, | know you're upset with us and think I'm biased, but I've explained it to
you many times.
"It's not what you think it is.Plus, you hate how your father and | could do anything for money, but you grew up comfortably with
our money! Without our stupid money, could you have studied abroad? Could you have found such a great job? Could you be living
so comfortably?"
Rhea scoffed and said maliciously, "What? Are you trying to say I'm indebted to you guys now, and I've spent much of your
money? Fine! Let's do the accounts, and I'll pay you a lump sum! You guys have that fat daughter anyway. You don’t need me!"
Her words stunned Maria.
