"It sure looks like it." Ross nodded in agreement. "My men in the embassy toldthings have been unusual over the past two
days. However, that's all they could tell me."
He spread his arms, indicating that even he knew little about what was happening at the embassy.
Alexander and Cameron were quiet. They exchanged a look without voicing their opinions.
"Secretary Rollins, what's your take?" Mike asked.
Arter all, Cameron was there to solve the problem together with them.
"I'd like to hear your thoughts first, Alex," Cameron said blandly.
Alexander cleared his throat and said to Mike, "It's evident they're doing something significant tomorrow. The embassy has been
postponing meetings, and Rhea has insisted that you only go there at night.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“That shows she'll be busy with something during the day," After a pause, Alexander continued, "Besides, why did she only call you
now? What was she doing during the day? Why didn't she call you earlier?"
Mike frowned. "I wondered about that, too. She might've had no tto answer my call or just didn’t want to. Maybe she couldn't
answer at all, either."
Ross sighed and looked toward Cameron. The former said, "I'm curious about what they're doing and where they're doing it
because not even the ordinary staff know about it.
“Secretary Rollins, | must emphasize that the Yudonian government has nothing to do with Fred's actions." Ross did not want the
incident to turn into a dispute between the two countries.
Cameron shook his head, saying, "I know you're in a pinch, but Fred is a Yudonian duke who has been using his status as the
ambassador to commit crimes in Hyderland. We've refrained from arresting him partly for the ties between our two countries.
"So you can't say your government isn’t responsible for this, Your Highness."
Ross shook his head. "I'm not. I'm just saying that whatever happens, it shouldn't affect our ties."
"Your Highness, you should know it depends on your and your government's stance. The ball is in your court now," Cameron said
courteously and firmly.
After all, Hyderland had tried to put up with what Fred did. If people discovered Fred's evil deeds, Yudonia would face worldwide
condemnation.
Ross dropped his smile and cleared his throat. He then nodded and said solemnly, "Il understand, and I'm grateful for what you've
done. However, what matters most now is to stop Fred and rescue my mom."
Alexander told Mike, "Go to the embassy tomorrow during the day. We'll find a way to get inside.”
"But she askedto go at night—"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Just find an excuse," Alexander said, "I've made arrangements on my end. If they don't let us in, we'll just force our way in."
They had tried to solve the problem legally through official channels, but they had no other choice.
