“Hi, are you Dyl?” Ruby asked politely when she noticed that Dylan sounded impatient. Dylan was
stunned. He then said slowly, “Yes, that’s me. May I know why Dew’s phone is with you?” “I’m her
mother.” Dew wiped her tears. “Something happened to her, and she can’t talk to you directly right now.
She asked me to tell you that she’s a month and a half pregnant with your child.”
“What?!”
Dylan was in a daze.
He thought he heard it wrongly. He asked again, “Did you say Dew is pregnant with my child?”
“Yes, she’s in the hospital now. The pregnancy report is out, and the baby indeed is yours. What will you
do?”
Dylan’s brain was buzzing.

‘Well, she isn’t as attractive as Dew. That’s precisely why I cheated on her.
‘We’ve been together for four years, but she couldn’t get pregnant. We went for a check – up, and the

‘But my wife and I can’t conceive a child together. In the end, we adopted a child from an orphanage.’
“Dyl, if you don’t want the child, I will have Dew abort him.”
When he heard what Ruby said, he said it without thinking twice, “No! I want that child!”
‘I can raise the child secretly in Sea City. No matter what, I want a child of my own!’
He walked towards the living room after he ended the call. He sighed and said, “Charlotte, I might need
to go to Sea City for a business trip again.”
“It’s alright. Good luck with your work. I’ll look after the house.” The young woman smiled gently. Just as
she was about to tell him to be careful, his phone rang again.
Once again, the call was from Sea City. He was a little nervous but kept a calm expression. “Let me pick
up this call again.”
He went to the balcony and picked up the call. When he heard what was said at the other end, his eyes
widened.
Dew stayed overnight at the hospital.
The smell of the hospital’s disinfectant was unpleasant, but it was better than staying at the detention
center.
She laid on the soft bed with excitement in her gaze. She cradled her stomach and whispered, “Baby,

The two policewomen blocked the person and asked coldly, “Who are you? What’s your relationship with

Dylan pushed his cap down. “I’m Dew Daugherty’s boyfriend. The baby in her stomach is mine, and I
want to meet her.”
They only let him in after they confirmed it with Dew.
Dew was in disbelief.
‘I’ve only asked my parents to tell Dylan about the news last night. I didn’t expect him to rush over today.
‘I thought that we were just a one-night stand, but he told the policewomen that he’s my boyfriend… ‘It
looks like he cares about the baby. Well, it looks like I’ll be leaving the detention center soon…?
