After she hung up, Duke asked, “Why didn‘t you accept his invitation?”
“Aside from my father and my younger brother, the rest of them don‘t welcome me. We‘ll only get into trouble if our presence isn‘t welcomed there.” Adina turned to Duke. “My sixth sense tells me that you‘re interested in joining them?” Duke cleared his throat and said, “I haven‘t officially met my father–in–law.”
He had met with an accident previously, and he had been occupied with various businesses ever since his return to
the country. Moreover, Adina had refused to let him join the reunion banquet last night. Hence, he had not seen her parents until today. “Haha! Why are you in a hurry? You’ll meet him soon, Frankenstein!” Adina teased him.
Duke‘s face turned black. “Are you saying that I‘m ugly?”
“It‘s true that you look slightly unpresentable now,” Adina said honestly.

“No, you‘re very handsome. My husband is the most handsome man in the world!” Adina curried favor with him.
Duke was satisfied. He got out of the car with his arm around her waist.
When they stepped out, Mabel and their children were playing in the living room. After the couple entered the house, Mabel went upstairs quietly. George had discovered her unusual behavior long ago,
and he discreetly asked Adina, “Mommy, what‘s wrong with Grandma?”
