The maid was frightened. She was trembling. She begged at Duke’s leg. “Mr. North, please forgive me.
Please have mercy. Ms. Adamos is dead, and I’m just a powerless person. I haven’t done anything!
Please let me go.”
Duke shook her away in disgust and stepped on the back of her hand.
