Chapter 889 Earl sat on the edge of the bed and grabbed her chin with one hand. When the task was

completed, Adina abruptly woke up. She slapped Earl‘s hand away.

Earl clamped her mouth shut. “Don‘t you try to call Duke, or else I don‘t know what I will make you do,”

he hissed.

He swung the dangling earring in his hand. “Even if I asked you to kill Duke, you would do it in an

instant. Do you want to bet on it?”

“You scumbag!” Adina squeezed out the words from between gritted teeth.

“Do you know how thrilled I was when I found out you had been implanted with the bio intelligent chip?”

Earl said as he stroked her cheek. “Can you imagine how surprised I was to learn that the bio–

intelligent chip in your body was produced by my company? I was ready to accept my fate and spend

the rest of my life in that underground room, but you gave me hope.”

Adina grimaced and moved away from his touch. Every time he touched her, she felt disgusted.

He looked like Duke. But it baffled her how evil he could be.

“Come with me, Addy.” Earl leaned closer to her. “I‘ll be good to you. I‘ll love you for the rest of my life.

Leave Sea City and come with me.”

“In your dreams!” Adina spat out.

Earl chuckled. “Well, dreams can come true as long as I have this,” he said, fiddling with the earring in

his hand. “I am reasonable. I‘ll give you three days to think about it. If you don‘t come with me on your

own, then I‘ll command you to do it.”

“You

There was a knock on the door. “Addy, can I come in?” asked Duke, from outside.

Earl‘s eyes were with contempt and envy.

He got up from the bed and laughed. “If you tell Duke about my visit, I‘ll order you to kill him.”

He pushed open the balcony door and jumped. Adina rushed to the door and locked it. She knew it was

pointless. Nevertheless, she drew the curtains, and the room was flooded in darkness.

Duke pushed open the door and walked in. “I thought you were sleeping.” “Almost. The light outside

was too jarring, so I got up to draw the curtains,” said Adina, forcing a smile.

“Let‘s have dinner before you go to bed.” Duke glanced at the time. “What do you want to eat? I‘ll make

it for you.”

“I don‘t want to sleep alone anymore,” Adina whispered softly. She walked to him and snuggled into his

arms. “Come and sleep with me.”

Duke was startled. He would gladly oblige. But in her current state, he could not get too intimate with

her. It would be damaging to her. “Addy, I‘ll do that when you are better, alright?” Duke said gently. “I

am in a room right next to yours. If you need me, you just have to shout. I will hear you.” Adina let out a

sigh. She was worried Earl might return, and she would be unable to fight him. But if Duke and Earl

were to confront each other, the scene would get even more messy.
