Maybe the indoor temperature was too comfortable, or the little girl’s steady breathing had a hypnotic effect, but
after staring at Caprice for a long time, Sherry suddenly felt sleepy as well.
She laid down next to the girl and closed her eyes for a little while.
However, not long after that, she soon succumbed to
slumber.
When she opened her eyes again, Caprice was sitting beside her, looking at her with wide eyes. She was dressed
neatly. Her pigtails were secured tidily, and she was eating a milk cracker in her hand.
Sherry was stunned and turned her head to see the sky
outside but saw John instead.
He stood leaning by the wall not far away with his arms crossed in front of him, looking at her with a disgusted
expression.
Sherry shot up straight and took out her phone from her pocket to look at it.
It was already 5 p.m.!
Did she sleep here for almost four hours?

John curled his lips. “If you’re awake, then get the hell out of here.”
Sherry looked at him and turned to say to Caprice,

Caprice, Mommy has to go now. I’ll come back to sleep with you another day, okay?”
“Okay,” the little girl answered softly.
Sherry immediately picked the girl up and gave her a big kiss on her cheeks again before releasing her. Then, she
got up and walked out.
Passing by John’s side, she smiled and said to him, ”
Don’t forget to read the letter of intent, Master Stockton. I’ll come back to visit you in a couple of days.”
After that, she walked out without waiting for John to
respond.
Her figure disappeared quickly.
John pursed his lips, walked to the bedside, and took
Caprice into his arms. He raised his hand to touch her little head and said gently, “Daddy is done with work now,
Caprice. Let’s go home.”
Caprice, however, was still staring in the direction Sherry had just left. Her mouth asked, “Daddy, why did you tell
Mommy to get the hell out?”
John’s eyes flickered. After a moment, he said, “Daddy was just joking with her. She won’t mind.”
Caprice hummed.
He carried her and walked outside. Thinking of
something, he asked, “Caprice, were you happy sleeping with Mommy?”
“Yeah.”
John curled his lips.
Caprice added, “I’d be happier if Mommy didn’t snore.”
John was speechless.
That woman still snored in her sleep?
Sherry walked out of Stockton Tower feeling refreshed. She had most likely fallen asleep with Caprice for so long
because she did not sleep much last night.
Ten minutes later, her car drove to Elysian Hotel where
she lived.
She got out of the car, put both hands in her pockets, and hummed a little tune as she returned to her room. She

It was a voice message from Carl. “My dear Sherry, are you done with work? I’ll accompany you for dinner, and
then we can go shopping.”
Sherry had gotten a call from him when she was on her
way to find John in the afternoon. He had said that he
wanted to eat and go shopping with her, but she had refused him because of work.
This guy was probably too bored and wanted to find
someone to accompany him.
Sherry replied, “I’m still busy. Find someone else
instead.”
Carl said, “Can’t you work tomorrow instead?”
Sherry said, “No.”
Carl responded, “Boring. I’ll look for entertainment by myself. You can coop yourself up in your room.”
Sherry ignored him. She opened her social media and deleted the picture that she had uploaded in the morning
and was only visible to John.
Her purpose of going to see Caprice had already been achieved, so there was no need to keep that photo.
