Chapter 1480

An hour of squatting later, she spotted the silver MPV coming out.

Her gaze shifted. She bolted up and wanted to run over to the man, but due to an hour of squatting, her legs were

numb. Her sudden rise caused her to lose her balance, and when coupled with the numbed legs, she fell down.

The silver MPV drove off like the wind in front of her eyes?

Sherry was left speechless. She simply lay on the ground without the slightest intention to get up.

Inside the silver MPV, the driver and Peter dared not even breathe loudly as things got tense.

Caprice was in her father’s arms while wearing a beautiful red dress. She curled her arms around her

father’s neck and looked out of the rear window.

It was dark outside. She could barely spot a thing.

She then looked at her father and said meekly, “Daddy, I thought I saw someone fall down.”

John smiled and answered softly, “You must have seen it wrongly. There’s no one there.”

Caprice frowned. “I did, I did.” She might not have gotten a clear look at that person, but she was certain it was

indeed a living person.

John’s gaze shifted. “Maybe it’s a thief who has been squatting outside. The thief must have fallen down

accidentally.”

Caprice had limited curiosity for her age. Since her father claimed it was just a thief falling down, she lost interest in

the little incident.

John smiled and patted her head. He also had a glance out of the rear window. He was able to spot a figure

standing up with their hands around the waist.

He chuckled.

Sherry angrily put her hands on her waist after she finally got back on her feet.

That bastard must have seen her!

However, it was no use getting angry.

She took a deep breath to regulate her anger. She then grabbed the heat patches she prepared from her pocket,

stuck them on her body, and then continued waiting.

Two more hours of squatting later, the silver MPV finally came back.

This time, she got up slowly and before the car even got inside, she ran to the entrance and stopped it. She raised

her arms and the car finally stopped.

She took off her cap and scarf as she grinned at the car.

Peter and the driver saw the bright and witty smile on her face and were rendered speechless.

The driver carefully turned around and said, “Sir, it’s Ms. Fowler. She’s at the entrance.” He was forced to stop with

her blocking the way.

John was carrying the sleepy Caprice in his arms in the rear seat. He looked in front through his golden–framed

glasses and spotted Sherry in front of the car.

It was already late, yet the woman was still at the entrance.

He grinned. Just when he was thinking about how to deal with her, Caprice, who should be dozing off, suddenly

opened her eyes and saw the person in front. She pointed forward and cried, “Mommy! It’s Mommy!”

Her adorable voice screamed in surprise when she saw

her mother.

John’s gaze shifted. He forcefully turned the girl’s face to himself and said with a smile, “Caprice, that’s not

Mommy.”

Caprice was dumbfounded. Even Peter and the driver were speechless.

“Peter, deal with it,” he said.

Peter got out, but before he went over, a sudden thought rushed into John’s mind. He said, “Wait…”

Peter turned around.

John grinned. “Don’t talk to her. Go call security and tell them that a thief is trying to cause a scene.”
