There was a balcony outside Caprice’s room.
Sherry quickly took her phone to the balcony and answered the call.
Carl’s unhappy voice instantly rang out from the phone. Sherry, did you check out of the room? Where did you go?
“I didn’t go anywhere. I’m still in Glanchester. I left in a hurry during the day and didn’t have time to tell you.” Then,
she asked him, “What are you calling me for?”
“Can’t I call you when you run away without saying anything?”
The corners of Sherry’s lips twitched. “If you have nothing to say, I’m hanging up.”
“Wait!” Carl quickly asked, “Where are you now?”
“I’m safe. Don’t worry about me.”
Carl was silent for two seconds and asked in a cold voice, ” Did you move in with Master Stockton?”

“Sherry Fowler, did you forget that we’re getting engaged?!” Carl raised his voice. It was several times louder than
usual.
Sherry was startled and pursed her lips, saying, Coastrock and Glanchester are thousands of miles apart. No one
there will know. Besides, I moved in for Caprice’s sake. I won’t shout about living with him.”
Carl did not speak.
Sherry knew his temper well. He was probably reining it in.
She added, “Don’t worry, Carl. I’ll do what I promised Madam Sager.” She would do her best to help him take over
Sager Corporation.
Carl lowered his voice and asked, “Do you think I’m angry because you won’t help me?”
Then, was he angry that she moved out of the hotel without telling him?
Sherry said, “I didn’t mean to not tell you I was moving out. I just forgot.”
Carl snorted and hung up the phone.
Sherry did not get angry as she put the phone away and turned around. Then, she saw John leaning lazily against
the door to the balcony. His eyes stared at her gloomily from behind his glasses.
“Was that Carl Sager?”
“Yeah, what about it?” she retorted.
“What did he say to you?”
Sherry was a little displeased. “What has that got to do with you?”
John lifted his long legs and walked closer to her.
Sherry quickly took a few steps back and was soon backed up against the railing.
John walked up to her until he was just a few centimeters away from touching her.
She was afraid that she would fall off the railing if she leaned back.
He raised his hand and cupped her chin, then lowered his head toward her and smiled coldly. “Sherry Fowler, you’re

“I didn’t say anything to him. I forgot to tell him I was moving out today, so he called me because he couldn’t find

Sherry’s eyes flickered as her jaw ached.
He squeezed her chin tightly and said, “No matter how many other men you have outside, you’d best forget about
them all. If I find out that you dare to cuckold me again, I’ll make you go back to wherever you came from, and
you’ll never see Caprice again in your life.”
He obviously still held a grudge against her for what happened nine years ago.
Sherry frowned and said, “Don’t worry, I lost interest in men a long time ago. I won’t let you be disgraced, Master
Stockton.” Her voice was frank.
John’s gloomy face eased up a little. “You’d better keep to your word.”
“I will.” Sherry saw his pleased expression and said, “Can you let go now?”
