“You must keep your promise.” Angela‘s eyes were red–rimmed at that point and she could not seem to stop

herself from tearing up. Over the past three days, she had tried her best to avoid thinking about this matter, but

she knew that she had to face it ultimately.

“I promise I will,” he responded solemnly.

“I need you to swear.” She was not satisfied with his promise. “Swear on my life. If you don‘t return, then I‘ll even

sacrifice my life just to be with you.”

Teary–eyed, she smiled and shook her head. “I‘m serious.”

“Trust me. I‘ll definitely come back safely.” Richard gave his word firmly.
