Chapter 290 The Murderers

Freya and Radley walked out of Jonathan’s office. However, upon a brief hesitation, Freya eventually decided to say

something that was at the back of her mind “Radley”

“Yes?” Radley looked at Freya while walking beside her.

“Actually, after fighting the mysterious man who was armed with a crossbow, I had my friend investigate his

whereabouts Freya frowned and added, “He was last seen in the area that was under development in North Geft.”

Radley squinted in response, knowing there was only one place, which was under development, in North Geft. More

importantly, that region was owned by the Monaghan Group. “I see. The man nodded and gazed at Freya. “You

mustn’t put yourself at risk ever again. It’s not worth jeopardizing your safety just to gather the evidence we’re

looking for.”

On the other hand, Freya appeared hesitant in response, thinking she was to blame for having gotten Melissa and

Hannah involved. “After the fight with that man, I’ve become more certain that those people are the same stalkers

who had been secretly investigating me earlier.” She spoke softly, looking at Radley. “However, I’m still confused.

Why didn’t they attack me directly? They instead targeted the people around me instead. Why?”

After careful deliberation over the past few days, Freya believed her stalkers wouldn’t have dared to do anything

silly due to the publicity she was gaining. That’s impossible! They’re trying to kill somebody note

“Don’t worry too much about that. Just stay safe and leave the investigation to me,” Radley replied.

“No need for that. I told you that because I feel responsible for what happened to Hannah.” Freya frowned in

response.

Not long after that, they found themselves standing outside Melissa’s cell room while talking. “See you” Freya

In the meantime, Radley had been waiting for a chance to visit Melissa as well but could tell from her expression

that she was reluctant to let him join her. It’s pretty obvious that she doesn’t want me to stay with her for too long,

isn’t it? He then pursed his lips and made a turn at the corridor’s comer, where Hannah’s cell

room was located.

On the other hand, Freya stood outside the cell room and looked at Melissa, who was still sleeping in bed “Wake up,

Melissa.”

Melissa tossed and turned in bed a few times before sitting up straight and seeing Freya through the door “Freya,

you’re here!” She ran to the door excitedly.

Freya smiled. “Yes, I’m here.”

“Freya, have you found the murderers who killed Benjamin?” Melissa’s eyes were filled with tears.

Freya sighed in disheartenment. After all, Melissa’s first question was always something about her release every

time Freya paid her a visit. Furthermore, Benjamin was Melissa’s first love, and the fact that he died because of her

only added to her disappointment. In order not to upset Melissa, Freya smiled and tried to light up the atmosphere.

“Don’t worry, the law enforcers have been actively investigating the case, so I think it shouldn’t be long until you’re

released.”

“What about the murderers who killed Benjamin?” Melissa asked.

“We found a witness who seems to know what the murderers look like. So, once he is arrested, you and Hannah will

be released in no time, Freya said with a smile. After a brief chat with Melissa, she walked out of the building

without telling Radley she was leaving. Instead, she went straight to her car, which was parked at the police station,

and returned to the Kaufmann Residence..

Deep down, Freya’s heart was filled with mixed emotions. In fact, her heart had always felt a stab of pain recently

every time she saw Radley, but fortunately, she seemed to feel better than the time when she first gained back her

memories.

Upon returning to the Kaufmann Residence, Freya informed Noah and Ashley that they could visit Melissa anytime

they wanted. “The knife that was deemed to be the evidence in the case is now likely considered to be fake. As long

as we can raise questions about that evidence’s authenticity, Melissa and Hannah should be released soon,” Freya

said with a smile.

At the same time, Ashley sat in the living room, tears welling up in her eyes as she listened to Freya’s words. Then,

Noah sighed and replied, “Freya, you have no idea how grateful we are to you for this!”

Ever since Melissa was suspected and arrested for the murder, Braxton and Freya had been trying their best to help
