The experts beat him up when he refused, made him sign the agreement, and pressed his thumbprint on it. They
had planned to kill him after it was done, but Master Vaise from the Friths appeared right at that moment and
saved him.
Master Vaise was a demismasher. Unless Valdis from the Osborns cpersonally, the experts from the Osborns
would not be able to defeat him.
Since Beckham was so close to dying, the three families did Master Vaise a favor in passing and stopped
attacking Beckham.

Beckham stared at the ceiling as he lay on the bed in the hospital ward. He murmured in a determined tone, "Mr. Yarde's my savior. He's saved my life.
I have to repay him!"
