Chapter 1310 You Are Free

“Such a good girl.” Genevieve bent down and kissed her cheek. “If you and Lucian can get Aunt Jojo to talk, Mommy

will grant you both a wish, and you can ask for anything you want.”

Amanda's eyes lit up, and she hooked her pinky finger with Genevieve's. “Then it's settled!”

The family was supposed to make ravioli together, but it turned out that, except for Armand, the mother and her

two daughters were not skilled at it. As a result, Armand ended up making more than two hundred ravioli by

himself.

Amanda took two containers, filled them with ravioli, and placed them in the freezer. She said that once they were

frozen, she would give them to Johanna.

After dinner, Armand played with the children for a while, and then sent them to their rooms to sleep. He also

returned to his bedroom and went to the bathroom to prepare a bath, so that Genevieve could enjoy a relaxing

soak later.

Armand walked to the bedside and lit the aroma lamp, only to notice several folders placed on the nightstand.

When Genevieve returned to the bedroom, she saw the man sitting on the edge of the bed, flipping through some

documents.

She couldn't help but complain to him, “I never expected that a secretary has to do so many things. Lately, all I've

been doing is going to the training room and reviewing these documents. I feel like my brain is going to explode.”

Armand put down the documents and pulled her over to sit on his lap. “Being the mayor's secretary isn't that easy.

After just one year, half of my hair has turned white.”

Genevieve pinched his chin, feigning anger, and said, “Do you think I can't get in?”

“How could that be? My wife is so smart, she would excel in the Department of Foreign Affairs...” Armand lowered

his head and gently kissed her hand.

“Just do what you like, there's no need to change specifically for me.” He looked at Genevieve with gentle eyes, “I

don't want to confine you, you are free.”

Genevieve knew that he understood and respected her more.

Even many years ago, when she wanted a divorce, he didn't put up much resistance.

Armand always prioritized Genevieve's feelings and never forced her to do anything she didn't want to do. It was

because of his understanding and support that Genevieve wanted to share some of the burden with him.

Genevieve hugged the man tightly and gently nuzzled his neck.

After a while, she pretended to be worried and said, “What if there are many beautiful women in your office and

they steal you away from me?”

Armand gently touched her hair and thoughtfully said, “Then I'll put your picture on my office desk. When they see

how beautiful you are, they'll feel ashamed of themselves and won't dare to have any thoughts about me.”

“Don't do that, I have my pride.”

As the two were chatting, Genevieve's phone on the bed rang. Armand, who was closer, picked up the phone and

handed it to her.

Genevieve saw that it was Charlotte calling, so she answered, “Hello.”

When she returned, she learned from Armand that the Benson family had gone bankrupt. Timothy had arranged

jobs for Charlotte's siblings, but due to her busy schedule, she hadn't been in touch with Charlotte.

After a while, a soft and pleasant female voice came through the phone, “Genevieve, are you busy?”

Genevieve paused for a moment.

In her memory, Charlotte was always proud and unrestrained. Even when she faced Beatrix, who had stolen her

boyfriend, she would never speak to her like this.

It seems that all of Charlotte's arrogance has now been worn away.

After chatting briefly with Charlotte, Genevieve got up from Armand's embrace and said, “Charlotte needs me for

something, I'll go over there for a moment.”

“Alright,” Armand instructed her, “It's cold outside, so wrap your scarf around you.”

“Alright, nagging uncle.”

Genevieve gave him a kiss, went downstairs to grab her coat and scarf from the hanger, and casually picked a car

from the garage. She then drove to the address Charlotte had given her.

Jadeborough is a southern city where the damp cold of winter is quite intense. No matter how thickly you dress, the

chill still manages to seep through your clothes.

In a less-traveled section of Jadeborough, under the streetlights, eight or nine sports cars were parked. They were

either Lamborghinis or Maseratis, looking incredibly cool. A group of young men and women were gathered around

the cars.

Everyone was dressed in minimal and trendy clothes, seemingly unfazed by the cold winter weather.

A woman wearing black stockings and a short skirt crossed her arms and walked up to Charlotte, chuckling, “Ms.

Benson, when did you become such a sore loser?”
