Chapter 563
Bruce walked to the living room. Taking out a pack of cigarettes from the drawer, he lit á cigarette and called Steven. “Is there no news yet?”
Steven, who was on the other end of the call, was speechless. It‘s been only a few days since you last asked. Do you really think there will be neros so soon!
He replied tactfully. “I’m already doing my best to get people to look for them.”
Sadly, the drug rescarch institute was demolished five years ago. The employees were either dead from illnesses, or they were sent to work for the government. It was difficult to find them.
Bruce took a puff of the cigarette and said hoarsely. “Work faster. You can tell Cooper about this matter if needed.”
“Mr. Sutton is smart. He’ll definitely suspect you if we do that.”

Hence, Genevieve drove off to meet Cooper at Specter Corporation.
Cooper seemed to be taking his medication the moment she entered his office. Seeing that, she asked concernedly, “Coop, are you feeling unwell?”
“Yes. I have a bit of a cold.” Cooper quietly returned the medicines into his drawer as Genevieve walked in. “Why are you here?”
“I need to talk to you about something.” Genevieve pulled up a chair and sat in it.
Adjusting his glasses, Cooper eyed Genevieve suspiciously. “What is it? Are you going to make me invest in Bruce’s movie again?”
Genevieve waved her hand dismissively and said with a stern face’, “This is about Jane.”
Cooper frowned upon hearing that. “Well, here I was thinking she was a smart one. I didn’t expect her to go looking for you and spouting nonsense. Looks like I’m treating her too kindly.”
“Coop, Jane really likes you.”
There are many women who like me.” Cooper snorted and dialed for his secretary to bring hini
a cup of coffee.
Letting out a sigh, Genevieve relaxed and leaned against the chair. “I hate you for accidentally killing my parents, but that’s because of Samantha. It has nothing to do with you. For the past few years, you’ve done so much for me and the company. I stopped hating you long ago. In fact, I see you as a family member now. Coop. I really hope you can forget about the past and live your own life.”
Cooper gazed at Genevieve for a long time before finally saying, “I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again. I’ll never remarry in this lifetime. If you don’t want to see me in the future, I can get Bertilla to contact you instead.”
“No. It’s not that I don’t want to see you. I just hope you can live a better life,” refuted Genevieve with a frown.
“I’m doing quite well now.”

Cooper’s face remained deadpan even after the long speech Genevieve made. With a cold tone, he said, “If Jane tells you another stupid nonsense, I’ll make Steven send her back to Yedells.”
Genevieve cyed the man who would not be convinced, no matter what she said. She had no choice but to give up.
While waiting for the elevator, Genevieve heard two of Specter Corporation’s employees discussing their trip to the floating lantern event at Primrose River tomorrow night. One girl mentioned she would be attending it with a date.
Soon, the elevator arrived on the first floor.
Bertilla stumbled into Genevieve, who was exiting the elevator. “Hello, Ms. Rachford,” he briefly greeted her before leaving
“Wait,” Genevieve called “Bertilla, do you have a girlfriend?”
Bertilla watched Genevieve scrutinizing him. For some reason, it made his hairs stand on their ends.
