Beginner’s luck smiled upon Esther as she was dealt an exceptional starting hand.

Chadwick was seemingly poised for dominance. He clicked his tongue and remarked, “Her luck is truly

extraordinary!”

Mandy asked curiously, “Is it really that good?”

Chadwick’s eyes shifted to Mandy’s hand and sneered. “Given your luck, it might be wise to give up while you still

can. If we catch you, the stakes will be high!”

Esther scrutinized her hand of cards and instinctively asked Chadwick’s opinion, “What should I play?”

“Make your move when it’s your turn,” Chadwick replied.

Selene played her turn, and Bradley followed suit.

“Now it’s your turn,” he reminded Esther.

The uncertain Esther hesitated before asking Chadwick, who she knew would help her understand the rules, “What

should I play?”

“Why the delay? You’ve already won,” Chadwick declared confidently, snatching Esther’s cards and placing them in

front of her.

“See that? She’s unbeatable,” he declared proudly.

Mandy chimed in. “Are you sure there’s no foul play involved?”

Chadwick chuckled. “Cheating with an automatic shuffler? Impossible. Now, let’s settle up!”

Chadwick playfully demanded chips on Esther’s behalf and received them from Mandy, albeit reluctantly.

Bradley observed Chadwick’s close interaction with Esther, his resentful gaze bordering on killing intent aimed at

Chadwick.

Esther continued to be blessed with incredible hands in the subsequent rounds.

“Hah! You should try your luck in the lottery with these cards!” Chadwick dramatically taunted Bradley while holding

Esther’s hand. “Warner, it seems I bring some luck to my wife.”

Mandy teased, noticing Bradley’s growing frustration, “Brother, can you spare us the salt? I’ve already lost—”

Before Mandy could complete her sentence, Chadwick’s phone rang.

“Hello?”

Upon hearing the voice on the other end, Chadwick abruptly discarded his cards, grabbed Esther, and swiftly exited

the game room.

“Aren’t we going to continue?” Mandy wondered, her confusion evident.

stroll in the garden, Mandy.”

Stumbling along, Esther found herself pulled into Chadwick’s car. Before she could settle in, the sports car bolted

into the bustling traffic like lightning.

Esther nervously fastened her seatbelt and asked, “Mr. Pendleton, this is—”

“Quiet!” Chadwick snapped, fixing her with a stern glare.

The crimson sports car sliced through traffic, accelerating rapidly.

Esther’s heart raced with fear—she had no clue why Chadwick had abruptly whisked her away. She dreaded he

might have uncovered something about her and Bradley. Could he be contemplating a punishment as severe as

tossing her into the sea?

The sports car came to a halt at the hospital.

Chadwick stormed into the hospital. Esther hesitated for a moment before following him. She soon spotted him

pinning a girl who appeared to be around 18 years old against the cold emergency ward wall like a furious lion.
