Chapter 362

“Who is it?” Neil asked, a bit puzzled.

“I’ll go check it out; you go take a shower.”

I had a hunch that the person outside was Snow, aka Karina, because my medication was all out, and

she always delivered new ones when I ran out.

I never understood why she didn’t give me more at once, but now it seemed to make sense.

Since she knew Bonnie, how could she not know about me and Neil? I remembered that she even

threatened to jump into a river when I got married to Neil.

So she was deliberately finding ways to get closer to me.

“A shower?” Neil seemed a bit confused as to why I suddenly asked him to take a shower.

“Yeah, you smell like booze; go take a shower. Today is my ovulation day.” I made up an excuse, one

that would make Neil obedient immediately.

Sure enough, upon hearing this, Neil’s eyes changed instantly. He nodded his head with anticipation in

his voice. “Alright, wait for me.”

“Make sure you clean up nicely; no coming out without clothes on. I pushed Neil towards the bathroom.

Once Neil was in the bathroom, I closed the door to muffle any sounds, and then I went to open the

door. As expected, it was Karina. She was still dressed in black, but this time without glasses, only

wearing a mask.

Her eyes were natural; it seemed she didn’t know I knew she was Karina.

She lifted up the medication in her hand and handed it to me. “Ms. Finch, your medication.”

“OK, thanks,” I took the medication but didn’t invite her in to sit as I used to. I used to be curious and

puzzled when I saw her, but now my heart ached.

“No problem; remember to come for treatment in three days.” Karina began to smile as her gaze fell on

the table in the living room. “Do you have a guest today?”

I turned back and saw the water 1 had just poured for Russel, half of which was still left. The two cups

on the table indeed looked like a guest had come. I hummed in acknowledgment, not going into detail

“Is it the same gentleman from last time? Your ex-husband, I believe.” Karina’s topic seemed to

intentionally drift towards Neil. I knew she was trying to fish for information about Neil from me.

After all these years, even if she came back, she shouldn’t directly look for Neil so suddenly.

Especially with a child involved.

But then again, wouldn’t she mind if she heard that Neil and Bonnie were getting engaged? How could

she still be so calm?

“It’s not him.” I denied it instantly.

“Really? I saw his car downstairs; I thought it was him.” Karina didn’t hold back; it seemed intentional.

“He can’t be here. He’s about to get engaged; why would he come to see you?”

I forced a smile and nodded in agreement. “Yeah, indeed.”

Suddenly, the sound of water came from the bathroom. Karina followed the sound with her eyes and

then asked me, “Ms. Finch, may I use your bathroom?”

The bathroom was right next to the shower room; it was only separated by a glass partition. Neil was

taking a shower, so I couldn’t let Karina in.

I rejected her. “The bathroom is broken; a repairman is fixing it. I’m sorry.”

“Oh, a repairman, is it?” Karina obviously didn’t believe it but didn’t say anything else. “Then I’ll leave.”

“I can’t walk you out right now; take care.” I responded nonchalantly.

Karina turned around and left. My door was not far from the elevator, so I watched her leave. Just as

the elevator door opened, the bathroom door suddenly opened. Neil came out wrapped in a towel; his

muscular shoulders and chest were looking very attractive.

Karina seemed to have heard the noise and turned her head, but I quickly shut the door with a loud

bang.

“What happened?” Neil was startled by the sound of the door closing and asked

worriedly.

“Nothing; how come you showered so quickly? You even came out without putting on clothes!”

My heart was racing. Karina didn’t wear glasses today, so Neil might recognize her.

Neil answered helplessly. “The shower gel is all used up. I called for you, but you didn’t respond, so I

came out to check.”

“Weren’t you afraid of being seen when someone was at the door?” I asked, feeling relieved and

slightly annoyed.

“What am I, a man. It’s okay as long as you’re not seen; otherwise, I’ll be mad.” Neil’s hair was still wet,

and droplets of water were dripping down his head as a faint. floral scent lingered on him.

I got a bottle of shower gel and handed it to Neil. “I’m not like you; I don’t have the habit of coming out

without clothes on. Go back and clean up properly!”

Neil took the shower gel, hesitated, and asked, “Can I continue showering later?”

“Why?” I was confused.

Neil looked down at the place he was wrapping. The towel was thick, but it did not hide his physical

reaction. I immediately turned my eyes away. “What are you shy about? You’ve seen it many times;

don’t you know it reacts?” He joked.

On this subject, Neil was very straightforward and physically vigorous. Although I was quite familiar

with his body, I still felt a bit shy each time.

I gave him a push. “No, hurry up and wash. I’ll wait for you in the room.”

“Alright.” Neil sighed as he somewhat reluctantly returned to the shower, while I went to sit in the room,

my mind filled with thoughts about Karina.

Currently, only Russel and I know about this.

After a while, Neil came in. He had dried his hair. Before I could speak, he had already pinned me on

the bed, effectively silencing me.

I felt a bit dizzy, momentarily lacking the energy to think about anything else. Now that Karina was

back, my relationship with Neil might soon come to an end. He cared about me a lot, so I needed to

cherish this time.

I was particularly aggressive today, which surprised Neil. But because he was about to get engaged, he

couldn’t stay over at my place.

“Alright, everything will be over in a couple of days. Then we can start over, alright?” Before leaving,

Neil kissed my forehead. His eyes looked very charming, and his gentle smile captivated me.

“Alright.” I held back the strange emotions I was feeling inside, put on a smile, and obediently

answered.

“I gotta bounce.” There was a hint of reluctance in Neil’s eyes, but he left anyway. Only then did I relax.

I was really scared my awkwardness would make him suspicious again.

Then it hit me. If Karina’s new name was “Snow,” was she really healing me or what?
