Chapter 701 Steven sat stiffly on the ground. He was looking atwith a pale expression.
After a while, he lowered his head and smiled. Despite this, tears started to well up in the comer of his eyes. He had probably waited a long tto hear those words from me.
"You used to say that you lovedtoo, but all this while, you've only been pretending,' Steven whispered. He was still unconfident. He had always been that way.
"I don't care if you believeor not," I said, pulling him by the chain. "Either way, I will never let you leaveagain!" Steven looked atintensely. He said softly, "Don't expose your identity, Stephie. Otherwise, everything I've done, including blowing off my leg, would be meaningless.' He was guilt-trippingby implying that I shouldn't put myself in danger if I truly loved him.

Ever since I regained my memories, even though everything felt unfamiliar, I had gradually accepted the fact that I had emotions. I had becincreasingly irritable and moody.
Steven reached out with trembling hands to hugbut was pushed away by me.
He slumped back disappointedly and softly said, 'Lethandle it, okay Stephie? We're almost there, just one final step to go." I yelled, "No! What do you takefor, Steven? A canary you need to protect with your life? If you die, would you wantto act as if you had never existed and pushto someone else? What exactly are you afraid of, Steven? What are you afraid I'll find out?" Steven lowered his head and stubbornly held his hands together, refusing to speak.
He was clearly hiding a secret he refused to reveal. He wasn't afraid of death, yet he was terrified offinding out about his secret. Just what was it exactly? "Get srest." I stopped pushing him since he refused to tell me. Knowing Steven's personality, he would never tellif he refused to.
"Stephie!" He strained against the chain hard, hoping to stopfrom leaving. "Please... don't expose yourself!" "Since you're not willing to cooperate and tellwho the mastermind is, I won't listen to you either." I shook off his hand.
"I'll tell you." Steven grabbed at my hand once again I wasn't sure where his strength had cfrom, considering he looked so fragile. Yet with a sudden pull, he managed to trapin his embrace.
"I met the person behind GenSociety in my capacity as the president of Crowdstar Group, but she's not the actual mastermind-there's someone behind her pulling the strings," Steven softly said, his voice trembling. "I met up with... Rachel' The person he met was actually Rachel I was stunned. 'Rachel?" Judging by her age, she shouldn't be the main mastermind behind GenSociety.
I had suspected Rachel even before I lost my memories, but her feelings for 'Stephanie" seemed too genuine to be an act.
Steven said, "Rachel foundright before I decided to meet the mastermind of GenSociety. She askednot to go and revealed herself as a part of GenSociety.

"I asked her who the mastermind was, yet she refused to say. But she was willing to help ixe to keep thing was things hidden from them. We orchestrated the explosion to create an illusion that both you and I were dead."
Steven spoke softly, revealing Rachel's identity, yet I knew he was still hiding things from me. "Rachel is actually from GenSociety." I laughed sardonically. When I 'lost my memories' from the car accident, Rachel cinto my life as a transfer student.
She always seemed to be someone under the control of her mother, often mentioning that her mother disapproved of whatever she did.
But it turned out that she was actually from GenSociety.
Was everything Rachel said a lie?
Was her 'mother' the actual mastermind behind GenSociety? And was this "mother" never meant to refer to the role of a mother to begin with?
