Chapter 216 A Favor

Kaylah patiently coaxed Hendry to sleep and repeatedly guaranteed that she would not leave when

he was asleep. Only then did Hendry obediently close his eyes.

Perhaps it was because he had not rested well for the past few days, or perhaps it was because he

felt at ease with Kaylah by his side.

Hendry really fell asleep though he didn’t plan to do this.

Listening to his calm breathing, Kaylah secretly heaved a sigh of relief.

When seeing Chad return, Kaylah told him that she had to go back first.

“Do you want to take this opportunity to leave?”

Like boss, like assistant. Chad thought the same as Hendry.

Kaylah glared at Chad. “Do you think I’m the kind of person who always breaks my promises?”

Chad thought for a moment and finally agreed.

“Ms. Delgado, don’t forget that Mr. Lowery was injured to save you. You have to take responsibility,

right?”

Kaylah cursed in her heart, why do you both use this to stop me from leaving?

But for sure, she couldn’t say anything. Indeed, Hendry got injured to for saving her.

Seeing the expression on Kaylah’s face, Chad understood something. He did not say anything else and

let Kaylah leave.

Kaylah said that she would bring dinner over. Then she left the hospital in a hurry.

Watching her leave, Chad returned to the ward and found that Hendry, who had not rested well for a long

time, had actually fallen asleep. Chad was surprised.

Hendry had clearly said before that his insomnia was very serious, and he had no way to rest

normally.

Chad didn’t expect that Hendry would fall asleep so easily with Kaylah by his side.

Chad guessed that Hendry rarely slept so well.

His expectations for Kaylah increased.

Since now Hendry got more time to spend with Kaylah, maybe Hendry would find a way to persuade

Kaylah so that Kaylah would change her mind and cooperate with the Lowery Group again.

Chad was happy when he thought of this.

On the other side, Kaylah was interrogated by her brother as soon as she returned home.

“Where did you go? Why do you smell like disinfectant? There are blood stains on your sleeves?” Zion’s

expression was very serious. “Are you injured?”

Zion cared about Kaylah a lot. Kaylah was afraid that Zion would go crazy, so she quickly waved her

hand. “It wasn’t me. I wasn’t injured.”

“Really?”

Zion picked her up from the sofa and examined her carefully. After confirming that she was really not

injured, he finally relaxed.

However, he did not let down his guard. Instead, he looked at Kaylah.

“Then who was injured? The smell of disinfectant on your body is so strong. Did you go to the hospital?” Zion asked.

Kaylah thought that nothing could be hidden from her brother, so she decided not to hide it and told

Zion the truth.

When Zion figured out the whole story, his face turned completely black.

“Hendry’s sister dared to stab you, but you went to take care of Hendry. That sounds ridiculous! Kaylah, is there anything wrong with your brain?”

After hearing Zion’s words, Kaylah finally came back to her senses.

It was right. Hendry’s sister wanted to kill her. That was why Hendry helped. Why should she thank Hendry for saving her life?

Wasn’t that what Hendry should do?

If he didn’t stop her, the one who would be injured would be Cecilia!

As for Kaylah, there would still be nothing wrong with her.

Now, Kaylah owed Hendry a big favor for no reason. Okay, it was ridiculous.

Finally, Kaylah thought everything through. Her expression changed several times. Finally, she still said, “Forget it. I have already promised him. I shouldn’t break my promise.”

Fortunately, she would only take care of him for two days. After the two days, she would leave without looking at Hendry.
