Austin’s dried lips moved, and he finally opened his mouth to speak, but since he had not spoken for a
long time and had screamed in pain whenever the drug took effect, his voice was husky and sounded
like wind blowing through a broken trumpet.
“You guys used a special knot.How can I break free from these ropes?” he asked the most crucial
question.
What Mike suggested sounded simple but took work to implement.
Having been locked up for so many days, Austin had tried to escape, but the knots they used on him
were unbreakable.

Mike shoved the pill into Austin’s hand, then closed his fingers so that he could hold it tight.
“I don’t have time to win your trust, and it wouldn’t be necessary.Remember every word I told
you.Whether you do it or not, it’s up to you.”
He got up and seemed to be leaving.
“Why?” Austin suddenly spoke, “Why help me?”
