Chapter 356

Kevan’s voice was so much more chilling than the piercing cold wind outside.

Larissa’s heart became colder, her expression smoothing out into calm,

“I went out with Mom today and only came back around 6 pm or so. When I did, I showered and went

straight to bed. Then, you woke me up,” she said, “I admit that I don’t like this kitten and that I’ve never

cared about it. But I swear that I have never thought of wishing that it would get ill or die.”

Kevan stared fixedly at her, trying to catch any hints of lies from her lace, but there were none. He

knew all too well that if she wanted to find an excuse to escape accountability, she did not need to drag

his mother into it. Knowing that he had misunderstood her, Kevan fell a little guilty. But when he heard

her admit that she did not like this kitten, he was sill rather displeased with her.

“Is it because once you’ve decided on that call all other cats cannot hold a candle to it? His eyes

darkened, containing a kind of complicated emotion that Latissa could not understand.

His erratic thought process confused her, but she still answered honestly. “Yes.”

Kevan’s body jolled noticeably. Looking down, his messy bangs fell against his forehead, covering

those fathomless eyes of his. “I get it now.” His voice was very soft, and it sounded despondently

bittersweet. “I’m sorry for raging at you earlier.” He picked up the kitten and continued. “Once it gets

better, I will send it to my mom’s.” He would not let it be an eyesore for her.

“Hang on.” Larissa blocked him off though,

She did not know why he was suddenly so depressed, but the way he looked right now made her sad

too. It felt like a thousand needles were stabbing into her heart, delivering a dense wave of pain

throughout her body.

“Huh?” Kevan’s chest nearly touched her arm. He hated his steps, his gaze moving up to lock with

hers.

“If you like this kitten, feel free to keep it and rear i Larissa said seriously. She had seen Kevan’s efforts

towards this kitten. Even though he had heartlessly sent away her Mullin, she could not bear to do the

same to him precisely because she knew what it was like to lose something that she held very dear.

די

She gazed at the kitten in his arms. “Will try to accept IL”

Try to accept?

Kevan looked down again as the ironic smile on his face grew bigger.

“No need.”

He did not want to force her to accept things that she did not like. Like this kitten, for example, Like –

him.

“When are you available? Let’s go through the divorce procedures.”

When he was waiting for Mutin’s diagnosis at the veterinary hospital, he thought of a whole lot of things

by himself. Although he had forcefully expressed his adamance in not divorcing her before, he was the

only one who knew that he was scaring her. He had always had a soft spot for her. If she had forced

him to divorce her, to the point that she would ignore all consequences–or even if things did not

reach that point he would have agreed to it

He did not want to let things be dragged out to that extent, and he most certainly did not want to be like

this kitten, overlooked, ignored. and treated coldly all the time. If he was destined not to receive her

love, then he wanted to leave with some of his dignity intact.

“Huh?” Larissa did not understand how they went from talking about the kitten to divorce. She only

knew that this matter, of which she had been waiting and hoping for, did not bring her any joy at all. In

fact, she was actually a little panicked and spumed the thought of it.

“I thought you wanted to divorce? Kevan laughed. “I will full your wish.”

Fulfill her wish?

Larissa was a little pissed at that. “Shouldn’t it be fulling things for you and Ruby?” she retorted.

Kevan’s smile grew colder, “I guess so.” he said. “So, when are we going to divorce?”

“Any time is fine.”
