Chapter 358

Kevan and Larissa both froze.

If this was before, Kevan would have rejected Dylan’s unreasonable request and had him take a cab to

come over, but today…

He looked down at Larissa and asked for her opinion with his eyes.

“Let’s go to the airport then.”

The moment she said that both of them breathed quiet sighs of relief. The elevator happened to arrive

right at this moment too.

Kevan asked Larissa. “You want to come along?”

She nodded and said. “Sure.” Ever since she came to Bartham, she rarely contacted her friends in

Covenford.

After the new year, Dylan’s career seemed to take of She frequently saw him posting on Instagram in

the dead hours of the night, creating stories about how he was still up reviewing case files. Afraid that

she would disturb him, Larissa never took the initiative to contact him.

The truth was, she missed him quite a bit..

Naturally, Dylan heard them talking. “Are you with Larissa?” he asked Kevan, who grunted in

affirmation.

“She’s coming with me to pick you up.”

“She doesn’t need to be at work today? Although Dylan was happy, he was also confused.

Larissa did not announce her broken leg to the world, and Kevan was not someone who talked much,

so Dylan only knew of her kidnapping by Jay Cole through the news, but nothing of the details of the

kidnapping.

Kevan just grunted again as a response, and he said. “The signal’s not good in the elevator. I’ll call you

again once we get to the airport.”

They did not say anything on the way to the airport. They were afraid that the moment they opened

their mouths, one of them would bring up the subject of divorce. So, they could only pretend and lie to

themselves this way while keeping themselves on tenterhooks.

They had specifically left at a time to avoid peak hours, but they were still stuck on the highway for

quite a while before reaching the airport two hours later. Following Dylan’s instructions. Kevan found

him quickly. Dylan was wearing a thin, long parka, shivering in the cold

winds.

*You’re finally here!” He tossed his luggage into the trunk and went to the backseat of the car out of

habit, but saw Larissa smiling at him from there. He asked in confusion, “How come you’re sitting in the

back?”

“My leg is broken, and there’s more space in the back,” she replied.

“So, the wheelchair back there was yours? Dylan had found it odd, thinking that Kevan was completely

fine, so why would he need to have

a wheelchair in the car?

“Yeah,” Larissa nodded.

Dylan looked down at her leg and asked with concern. “How did you break your leg? How come I don’t

know about this?”

Seeing that their conversation was going to get potentially longer, Kevan frowned and interrupted them

with annoyance. “Chat when

you’re in the car. I can’t park here.”

Dylan quickly shut the door for Larissa before getting into the passenger’s seat. Once he was inside,

he could not help but rub his arms and exclaim, “Bartham’s really cold, man! Covenlord’s temperature

is going back up. It’s already around 68‘ Fthese two days, and it actually feels hot over there in this

getup! Who knew that it’d be freezing over here!”

Kevan’s face was still cold, but he adjusted the temperature in the car so that it was higher. Watching

his actions, Larissa suddenly felt sad. She knew that Kevan was a warm and gentle man, but he would

never treat her that way. He never even treated her as his friend.

Dylan chattered away for some time before he finally remembered to ask about Larissa’s leg. “So how

did your leg get broken?”

“Well, it was when Jay kidnapped me and he kicked my leg fill it broke,” Larissa casually wrote her own

injury off without mentioning how Ruby worsened it.

“Did he kick you that hard?”

It was already a month, and she still needed to sit in a wheelchair?
