Chapter 426

The nanny Dylan recommended was called Mrs. Potts. She was from Bartham’s neighboring town

called Pishal. Pishal was a small backward town and the young people there liked to flock to Bartham–

including Mrs. Potts daughter.

Her daughter could be seen as a capable lady. Born in a single–parent family, she counted on her own

hard work to get into a good university in Bartham. After she graduated, she became hired at a good

company and married a Batham local.

Although the man was from Bartham, his family was only a middle–class family. The two families gave

all they could to buy the married couple a house, but the couple still had to pay off the monthly

mortgage themselves. Mrs. Potts‘ daughter was filial and she was worried that Mrs. Potts would feel

lonely back home in Pishal so she brought Mrs. Potts to live with her after her mariage. To lessen the

burden on her daughter and son–in–law, Mrs. Potts took up her old job again and became a nanny.

All this was what Mrs. Potts told Larissa on her first day, in her old age, Mrs. Potts was very chalty and

gregarious. They had only just met but she pulled Larissa to her and called her “dear“, then pulled

Aster to her and called him “baby boy“,

Larissa wasn’t used to such attaction, but she didn’t dislike it. On the other hand. Aster loved it and

kept calling Mrs. Potts “Granny Ports” Joyfully. By the time Mrs. Potts was done cooking dinner for

Dylan and came over, it was almost Aster’s bedtime. Larissa had thought that the sole purpose of

hiring Mrs. Potts was to take care of Aster, but it did she expect to be urged to bed every night herself.

Mrs. Potts said. “This is an extra order Mr. Shields gave me.” Larissa didn’t know if she should

compliment Dylan for being thoughtful or scold him for being nosy. Mrs. Potts was someone who took

her job very seriously. She would burst into Larissa’s room a few times every night, and whenever she

saw that Larissa was still awake, she would nag at her.

*Staying up late is very bad for your health. Don’t think that you can ignore your health just because

you’re still young! Work is never- ending, so it’s not urgent anyway! You have no idea that my daughter

recently fainted because she burned the midnight oil at work for too long. It scared my whole family!

We even had to send that old. To cut off her nagging, Larissa had no choice but to switch off her laptop

and go to bed. After days of keeping up this habit Larissa’s work–life balance slowly got back to

normal. She was very energetic in the mornings even if she didn’t rely on coffee

The pocks on Aster’s body became scabs and recovered, leaving only faint marks. Larissa put on a

facemask for him and took him downstairs to get some air while it was still breezy and deserted in the

early morning. They intentionally avoided Kevan and Dylan’s building, strolling along the path

Aster had been cooped up for some time at home, so he was so happy that his eyes sparkled when he

finally got a breath of fresh air, Mommy, when can I go back to kindergarten?” he asked.

“In a few days. You can go back when the scabs on your face fade.” said Larissa. Although it wasn’t

serious anymore, it still looked quite frightening.

“Okay then” said Aster, obviously a little disappointed.

“Aster” Suddenly, a crisp voice called out from behind them. Larissa and Aster stopped walking and

turned around at the same time. catching sight of a plump little girl running towards them. Who else

could it be if not Bethany?

Larissa instinctively took a step backward, shielding Aster behind her. Nobody knew if Bethany just

couldn’t stop in lime or if she did it on purpose, but she rammed right into Larissa. Larissa lost

herbalance for a moment while Bethany bounced backward, landing on her backside on the ground.

She immediately burst out crying. Larissa stooped to help her up, but Bethany slapped her hand away.
