Chapter 673

Yvette was buried in a regular cemetery along with the “normal” people that she once looked down on. She would

sleep forever among the pine trees on the hill.

Because Larissa didn’t care. Lewis had not picked the plot of land where Yvette would be buried. He got someone

to recommend a spot. It happened to face the man-made lake. The scenery was nice, but they had to climb up to

the halfway point of the hill,

Bartham had been stricter in their management of funeral proceedings and visitations. The candles Lewis brought

with him had to be thrown away at the bottom of the hill

He joked to Larissa, “I guess Yvette will never get lit candles for the proceedings.”

Larissa bit her lip as she stared at the candles that were now in the trash can. She did not say anything.

“Do you think everything Yvette did was worth it? Lewis asked her, “She sold her body at such a young age to get a

file of luxury in return. She bowed down constantly with the Seymours, was disrespected by everyone, and even

lost here —

“Even after death, she’s so pitiful Burled here all alone. After today, there would be no one else who would come to

see her anymore.”

Was it worth it?

Larissa smiled. “Only she would know the answer to that.”

Although there were many steps leading up the hill they were very even, Lewis helped Larissa up. It took them

twenty minutes to reach

Yvelle’s grave.

The gravestone was made with the finest black granite that the cemetery had. The carved words were painted

white. The photograph embedded in the middle was a bit blurry. It was a picture of Yvette when she was on set for

some movie.

She was in her twenties in that picture, with old-fashioned curls in her hair. She wore a cute dress. She had a pretty

and seductive smile. her eyes strangely captivating, It was a completely different person from Larissa’s memory of

an angry and violent middle-aged woman.

*Uncle picked the picture.” Lewis said, his voice having a faint hint of nostalgia in it. “I know Gary never let her go

all these years.”

Even if Yvette had lied to him and said that she sent the child away, even if she was so heartless to him, she was

still the only woman Gary had ever loved. So, Yvelle had a considerable place in Gary’s heart.

Larissa was a bit surprised. “Wasn’t he super unwilling to come back with us?”

When Larissa got the call from the hospital, she went to ask Gary first. He allowed her to come back for Yvette’s

funeral, but when she suggested that he come along too. Gary rejected her.

“I will never see that woman ever again! Even when I die, I will never find her in the afterler

So, Larissa thought that he hated Yvelle.

Lewis had carried a bouquet of red roses with him all this time. He put the flowers in front of the gravestone as he

looked at Yvette’s smiling face. His voice was light as he said. “Uncle does hate her.”

But if he had not loved her, where would the hate have come from? It was because he loved her that Gary

remembered that she loved red

roses the most.

That was why he called Lewis to tell him to buy red roses before coming to the cemetery.

Larissa did not understand such a twisted love. She did not understand why Gary would still love Yvette even after

having been hurt so

much by her.

“It’s just like the roses.” Lewis said. “People know that they have thorns, but they still keep reaching out for them.” t

One day in the future, Larissa relayed her confusion about love to Wendy, Wendy smacked her thigh and gave

Larissa the most simple explanation ever. “Isn’t your dad’s attachment to Yvette the same as yours to Kevan?

Even if Larissa had been hurt so much by Kevan, she would still give into her base instincts and be attracted to him.
