Chapter 476

Aster and Kevan were playing online games at home. The gaming console was connected to the

television and the living room resounded with the game’s background music and their shouts of

excitement. This was the scene that met Larissa’s eyes when she got there. Her anger inexplicably

bummed even brighter, and she slammed the door shut. The two people Inside Immediately kept quiet,

and their smiles.

vanished.

Aster threw down his controller and rushed to Larissa, throwing his arms around her lightly. “I’m sorry,

Mommy!” he apologized sweetly. sneaking glances at her with his gleaming eyes. Larissa’s heart

melled a little, but she forced herself to remain steadfast. She pulled him away expressionlessly and

watched as a look of panic crossed his face while he leared up.

“Mommy.” Aster pouted miserably and his voice was a lot softer than before.

In the blink of an eye, Kevan had switched off the television and walked over to them.

“Sorry,” he said to Larissa. His gaze was dark and his lips were slightly pursed. Because of his height

and intimidating aura, he didn’t look humble at all although he was apologizing.

“It’s not your fault” said Larissa. Even if he were at fault, it was only because he doted on Aster too

much and couldn’t bear to refuse him. Although she was angry, she was still aware of this fact. “Thank

you for tonight. But you should leave,” she said. She would take things up with the kid after he left.

Kevan did not answer her, but lowered his head and looked at Aster, who was standing beside her

miserably. Aster looked back at him. They communicated with each other through looks before Kevan

finally nodded and said. “Okay”

Larissa sat down on the sofa while Aster stood in front of her. His shoulders were slouched and he was

hanging his head.

“Why did you make Uncle Kevan pick you up?” asked Larissa. She could already guess what his

answer would be when she connected the dots with what Wendy had told her previously. She had

always known that Aster was wise, but she did not expect him to be so mature. She could let him have

his way with everything else, but not this

“Because I felt so bored being alone there,” said Aster meekly. “Uncle Kevan and I made a deal last

time to play games together, so I did ask him if he was busy beforehand, and I only asked him to pick

me up when he said he wasn’t! For fear that Larissa would reprimand

him, he tried his best to explain himself.

Larissa believed that he was telling the truth. Based on how much Kevan doted on Aster, he was

definitely capable of lying that he wasn’t busy. “Uncle Kevan only said that he wasn’t busy because he

didn’t want to disappoint you.” Larissa leaned forward, put her hands on Aster’s shoulders, and looked

him in the eye. “But in reality, he is very busy with work these days.”

Aster opened his mouth a little, an expression of shock on his face. “Uncle Kevan likes you, so he was

willing to put down his work and come play with you. If you like Uncle Kevan too, then you should be

considerate of him and sympathize with him more. Don’t disturb him during times like these and cause

him trouble. You might hinder him from finishing his work” said Larissa

Aster pouted and hung his head sadly. “I got it. I won’t ask Uncle Kevan to play with me anymore.” His

hands, which had been hanging by his sides, suddenly curled into fists. “Mommy His voice grew tearful

as he said. “I want to go back to kindergarten-

Larissa was stunned for a moment. His request was out of her expectations. She had thought that he

was going to say, “I want a father.”

Had she actually misunderstood him? Had he really been bored at the office leading to him asking

Kevan to play games with him?
