Chapter 1038

Lysander’s car was roaring towards the Star Harbor Villa. He was only three minutes away

from the destination.

Suddenly, the sky was split by the thunderous roar of plane blades slicing through the air.

Glancing up, Lysander caught sight of a sleek black plane ascending higher, heading

towards the distant horizon.

His grip on the steering wheel tightened, his foot slammed down on the accelerator. Like

an arrow released from its bow, he sped into the villa’s courtyard. The yard was barren,

devoid of trees and greenery, surrounded by a small path that circled a patch of bare,

yellow earth.

The villa itself was plunged into darkness. The gate sealed shut.

Clearly, no one was home.

It was in that escaping plane that Thalassa and the children had been sitting.

Lysander clenched his teeth in fury, his sharp features as cold and hard as carved stone.

“Damn it!” he cursed. His breath was ragged with anger as he pounded the steering

wheel. The car responded with a sharp “beep” of the horn, a sound that seemed almost

like a cry of pain.

His eyes burned with barely contained rage as he stared at the closed gate, then he

whipped out his phone and dialed David.

“Get a chopper to Star Harbor Villa, and I need ten of our best tech guys here. Hack into

the surveillance and track the plane. I want Thalassa found today!” Lysander barked

orders, his voice icy with command.

David paused for a moment. He was shocked by the news that Thalassa had fled agai right

under Lysander’s watchful eye. He couldn’t help but admire her audacity.

“Right away.” David replied, confirming his understanding of the urgency before hanging

up and springing into action.

Back on the plane, Callum was controlling the plane. Thalassa, Evelyn, and the four

children, were seating behind him.

The children, experiencing their first plane ride, were as curious and delighted as a bunch

of playful monkeys. They were looking around and touching everything in sight.

“Mom, flying is so much fun! Can we please go again?” Dorian asked Thalassa, his face

beaming with joy.

Thalassa’s lips curved into a gentle smile at the sight of her son’s innocent happiness. “If

we get the chance, we will.” she promised.

“Mom, does this chopper belong to Callum? Does Dad have one too?” Elowen asked, her

head tilted in curiosity.

The thought of Lysander brought a heavy sense of dread upon Thalassa.

Her smile faded slightly as she answered Elowen’s question, “Your father has a plane too.”

She remembered riding in Lysander’s private jet before.

“Yay, Dad has a plane too! He’s amazing!” Elowen’s dimples deepened with her bright

smile, her little face radiating pure delight.

“Mom, where are we going?” Sophia always had a knack for asking the most crucial

questions.

Thalassa wasn’t sure herself; the escape had been so abrupt that she hadn’t even planned

a destination.

Looking towards the cockpit, she asked Callum, “Where are we going?”

“To the airport.” Callum replied. “Lysander can easily find us if we stay in the country. We

need to get abroad.”

Lysander’s reach was extensive within the country, and they would never be free of his

grasp here. But abroad, his power would be significantly diminished.

“Oh, okay.” Thalassa acknowledged, dismissing the topic.

But Atticus picked up on their conversation. His mother was trying to flee with them, and

she didn’t want his father to find them. Were his parents separating for good?

Regardless, he was resolute in his decision to stand by his mother’s side. That was fo sure.

It wasn’t long before the plane touched down on the expansive tarmac of the airport.

Thalassa disembarked with the children and Evelyn. But rather than ushering them onto a

commercial flight, Callum’s first move was to make a call.

“Can you wipe the surveillance footage of Starhaven between ten and ten-twenty? Is it

doable?” Callum spoke into the phone with urgency.
