Chapter 915

Thalassa was genuinely shell-shocked. She knew the place was going to be grand, but the opulence of the decor

and furnishings took luxury to a whole new level.

No wonder the price tag was in the millions!

“Thalassa, Lysander really splurged on you this time. I mean, if the guy can drop that kind of dough, why can’t he

commit to a future with you?” Evelyn mused, still unable to wrap her head around it.

For Thalassa’s sake, Lysander had built a mansion in exclusive Hollowbrook, and now he’d gone and purchased this

palatial estate in Starhaven.

When it came to spending money, the man was in a league of his own. Yet, when it came to matters of the heart,

his wallet might as well have been a steel trap.

“Mom, let’s just get our stuff inside,” Thalassa said, sidestepping the conversation with an armful of bags. She didn’t

bother to answer Evelyn directly, expertly changing the subject.

This tired old topic didn’t need another go-around.

Evelyn settled into the guest room downstairs while Thalassa claimed a room on the second floor by the staircase.

As Thalassa was organizing her clothes, her phone buzzed with a call.

Seeing Lysander’s name on the screen, her nerves instantly tensed. She hadn’t even answered yet and already felt

the weight of his presence.

She put down the shirt she was folding, wiped off the non-existence dust on her hands, and answered the call.

“Have you settled in?” Lysander’s deep, resonant voice held no hint of emotion.

“Yep, just got in,” Thalassa replied earnestly.

“Do you like it?” Lysander asked.

There was a pause. Thalassa knew what he wanted to hear. “The place is huge and gorgeous. I mean, it’s a villa.

Who wouldn’t love living here?”

Silence on the other end.

After a two-second pause, Thalassa added, “Where are you? I’ll come over.”

Lysander’s grip on his phone tightened ever so slightly. It had always been him seeking her out. Her offering to

come to him was a rarity.

“The Sinclair Group, CEO’s office,” Lysander stated his location.

“Okay, I’ll be there in half an hour,” said Thalassa.

As soon as she finished speaking, the line went dead.

downstairs to inform Evelyn before heading out.

The Sinclair Group, CEO’s office.

Lysander had finished his pile of paperwork and no new files had come in.

Sitting back in his chair, he stared at his computer screen as David came in to report on a few work matters. Noting

that Lysander had wrapped up his work and his gaze hadn’t shifted from the monitor, David realized his boss must

be winding down.

Wrapping up the briefing, David ventured, “Mr. Sinclair, it’s already seven. Are you not going home? That’s all from

today’s meeting, and there’s no more work pending.” ending.”

Lysander shot him a glance that could freeze boiling water.

David paused, aware he might have overstepped. Was that look telling him to mind his own business?

He tightened his collar and quickly bowed his head, saying, “Mr. Sinclair, your diligence sets the bar for us all. Is

there anything else you’d like me to take care of? I can stay late and help you with overtime.”

No sooner had he finished than he was met with Lysander’s icy stare, laden with that familiar oppressive force.
