Chapter 920

Bruce’s eyes flickered with malice, but he swiftly tamped it down, maintaining a smile as he set down his coffee cup

out his phone from his pocket. “You might not be aware of how juicy that video is,” he said, “let me send it to you.”

As Bruce’s voice trailed off, Thalassa’s phone pinged with a new message. It was a video from Bruce.

Opening it, the content sent a chill down Thalassa’s spine, her blood ran cold, her breath caught in her throat.

She could barely stomach the first few seconds before she had to slam the video off, her cheeks trembling with a

mix of rage and sorrow as she glared at Bruce. “Delete it. Delete it now!”

Her growled words seemed to squeeze through clenched teeth, her anger at its peak.

In the video, Evelyn was being oppressed by Bruce, her struggles futile, the despair she must have felt was

palpable.

Just the thought made Thalassa’s heart wrench painfully.

Bruce, seeing Thalassa’s eyes burn with hatred yet powerless to act, couldn’t help but wear a smug smile. He

casually gripped his coffee cup again, “Even if I delete the video from my phone, I have plenty of copies. You’re a

smart cookie, Thalassa. You know what needs to be done to ensure the video stays buried. You can’t stomach it, so

imagine how Evelyn would feel?”

Thalassa’s hands gripped fiercely, her nails biting into her palms with the weight of her resentment. Yet, confronted

with Bruce’s shamelessness, she felt helpless to act.

Her breathing became ragged, her body trembled slightly as she forced her eyes shut, struggling to suppress the

urge to end him right there.

When she opened her eyes again, there was a new layer of calm, “So, once Susan becomes Lysander’s girl, you’ll

delete all the videos?”

“Of course,” Bruce replied, “I’m a man of my word. Besides, I’m your father, why would I lie to you?”

Suppressing the disgust within her, Thalassa managed a cold, mocking smile, “You’d better hope lightning doesn’t

strike you down.”

With that, she rose to her feet and left, unable to bear another second of Bruce’s presence.

Bruce’s smile didn’t waver as Thalassa’s insults bounced off him, mere words that posed no threat.

He initially intended to leverage Thalassa’s connection to Lysander for his benefit. However, after she had tricked

him into a mountain hike only to leave him hanging from a zip-line and compelled him to pay a hefty sum, all

without showing any concern for his well-being, he changed his strategy.

Bruce knew he couldn’t rely on Thalassa. Instead, he would groom Susan, his and Lucy’s biological daughter raised

under his wing, to become Lysander’s woman. She had always been interested in Lysander, lacking only the

opportunity.

With Thalassa on good terms with Lysander, who better to play matchmaker?

Finishing his coffee in one gulp, Bruce left the café for Vibrant Oasis Residences to catch up with Evelyn.

Upon arriving, he unlocked the door, calling out, “Evelyn, did you miss me? I’ve come to see you.”

Silence greeted him.

He ventured further, expecting to find Evelyn, but the room was empty. After a search yielded no sign of her, he

checked the wardrobe to find it bare.

Evelyn had moved out.

His face turned stormy, thinking, ‘So what if she’s moved? It’s just a rental.’

With a little inquiry with the real estate agent, he’d find where she lived. She couldn’t escape; she was destined to

endure his ‘love’ for a lifetime.

Preparing to leave, something sparkling caught his eye near the entrance. He looked closer and found a diamond

necklace on the shoe cabinet.

The pendant was cloud-shaped, surrounded by a halo of diamonds.

Bruce had spent years among the elite, and if there was one thing he excelled at, it was appraising jewelry. He

could tell the value of a piece with just one glance.
