Chapter 1309

“No, silly child. He wouldn’t dare bully me!

“After all, I’m like his mother.”

May smiled and waved her hand as she explained hurriedly.

“Hmph! He has always bullied us.”

Caitlyn curled her lips. She had never liked Albert.

“Aunt May, what happened to you?”

Sean frowned slightly. He was pretty sure May had just cried.

“I… I’m fine. I just think you guys have all grown up!

“I’m happy to see how close you and Catie are.

“With you protecting Catie and you two protecting the orphanage, I can die in peace.”

May paused before replying with a smile.

“Aunt May, what are you talking about?

“You’re not going to die, and Heaven forbid you will. Because you still have many children to take care

of!”

Caitlyn said earnestly as she looked at May.

“Silly child.”

May touched Caitlyn’s head and sighed.

“Aunt May, you protected us when we were children.

“I now have the power to protect you.

“So tell me if anything happened.”

Sean looked at May, his tone serious.

“Good kid. I know. I know.”

May nodded with relief.

“Oh, where’s the washing machine?”

Caitlyn looked at the laundry drying in the distance and thought of carrying the washing machine indoors

with May.

“I moved it inside earlier.”

May paused for a moment before saying quickly.

“Oh, wait for me to return when you want to move heavy things next time.”

Caitlyn said to May helplessly.

“Yes! Yes!

“Seanie, you must have work to do. Go about your business.”

May nodded before looking back at Sean.

Sean slowly looked around the orphanage before nodding and saying goodbye to the two.

May looked at Sean’s leaving figure and moved her mouth. She looked like she wanted to say

something. However, she said nothing in the end.

Her eyes were complicated like there was something she could not say.

“Oh…”

May sighed gently and walked slowly into the house.

Riverside Villa.

“Sally, why don’t we leave?”

Connie went to Sally’s room and asked after hesitating for a few seconds.

“Where shall we go?”

Sally was helpless. She had been thinking about it too.

However, there was no place for the three of them to settle down in Joules Town.

“But we can’t keep staying here and troubling Mr. Lennon and the rest.”

Connie did not feel comfortable here, and she did not want to owe Sean too much.

Sally sat in the chair, looking at her daughter napping in bed and feeling frustrated.

Patrick was the only male in the family and the breadwinner.

Now that Patrick was gone, the world was basically falling apart for her family.

However, life went on, and they could not just walk away when she had a kid.

“Mr. Lennon helped us get fair treatment.

“But that land will take time to develop. Are we going to stay here forever?”

Connie asked again when Sally was silent.

“Mom, let’s wait longer.

“Wait, we’ll get our land compensation soon. Let’s go house–hunting.”

Sally was silent for a few seconds before saying quietly.

Knock–knock!

Connie was about to reply when there was a gentle knock on the door.

“Come in.”

Sally looked up and shouted.

“I’m not coming in. Can you and Aunt come out? I have something to tell you.”

Sean did not push the door but said quietly.

“Ah, okay. Coming.”

Connie quickly nodded and went to the living room with Sally.

“Aunt, you’re not used to living here, are you?”

Sean asked straight to the point after they walked out.

“No, no…”

Connie froze and quickly waved her hand.
