Chapter 891

Ever since Willow walked into the private room, she had been listening about the kinds of businesses

each person’s child was involved in now.

She was also updated on whose daughter had gotten married which eligible bachelor.

Based on the tales they were telling, everyone seemed to be earning at least a million dollars a year.

“That’s right…”

Fion bobbed her head gently.

If it were not for the fact that Sean had raked in a notable sum of money, she would have refused to

come at all.

“Hey, Fion, why aren’t you saying anything? Come on, you were one of the alpha girls back then.”

“We’ll be too scared to say anything if you aren’t talking!”

A heavily made–up middle–aged woman abruptly spoke to Fion, a smile on her face.

Fion had been one of the popular and good–looking girls in school when she was younger. One would

not be going overboard by calling her an alpha girl.

“No, that’s not true.”

Fion waved her hands slightly, not wanting to make any further comments.

The middle–aged woman was Ellen Chenne, and word was that amongst all her former classmates,

she was the one living most comfortably now.

She had been in charge of organizing today’s class reunion.

However, Ellen was the sort of person who viewed her benefits as being more important than anything

else. She was even worse than Fion was in this sense.

The two had been on relatively good terms before this.

However, Ellen had wanted to set her son up with Willow.

Fion was against that, and now the two were enemies.

“Mom, that’s Willow, right?”

“She looks even better than she does in the pictures.”

The young man sitting beside Ellen smiled as he said that.

“Yes, that’s her.”

“Willow, this is my son, Finn Turner. He’s just returned from the Union States.”

“He furthered his education there, and has now entered the workforce.”

Ellen smiled proudly as she introduced her son to Willow.

Willow bobbed her head gently in greeting.

“My treat today. Please enjoy your meal, everyone.”

“I noticed that the quality of local restaurants are slightly lower, and are no match at all for those

overseas. That’s why I chose this hotel, which is still fairly decent.”

Finn smiled as he spoke,

“Gosh, it’s already wonderful!”

“Finn has only just returned after spending so much time overseas, It’s not surprising he hasn’t gotten

used to the food back home yet.”

Gifts blinded the eyes of these middle–aged men and women, and they knew what they should say

during such events. Thus, they began showering him with praises.

On the contrary, the youngsters who were in attendance with their parents felt a twinge of annoyance.

Finn’s words showed his feelings of superiority and disdain towards his home country, which the

youngsters found unbearable.

However, no one was going to call him out on that.

“Look at that, Fion. I wanted to set Willow up with my son back in the day, but you objected.”

“Now, my son has a foreign girlfriend, cars, property, and savings.”

“Today’s meal is going to cost at least six figures, but my son didn’t even bat an eye.”

The more Ellen spoke, the more excited she became, and everyone sitting nearby murmured in

agreement.

“Oh, that’s right. Fion, Willow isn’t still single, right?”

“I heard your family took in a cripple two years ago?”

Ellen deliberately turned her features into a confused expression as she asked Fion that question.

“He was just temporarily disabled. He’s recovered now.”

Fion had a slight frown on her face as she explained.

“So what if he’s recovered now?”

“Women must learn to make wise choices for themselves!”

Ellen pursed her lips slightly before she continued talking loudly and arrogantly.

She even began comparing Finn to Sean, and her choice of words was as arrogant as they could get.

Fion had nothing else to say in return, and she picked her cup up to take a sip of tea.

“Hey, this is the newest Hermès women’s watch, isn’t it? It costs over fifty thousand dollars!”

Suddenly, a middle–aged man caught sight of the wristwatch Fion was wearing.

Everyone was stunned when they heard that. Then, they noticed that Fion looked slightly different than

how they had remembered her!

All of Fion’s and even Willow’s clothing and jewelry were from designer brands.

These things were worth a lot of money!

However, a contemptuous smile appeared on many people’s faces when they saw these luxurious

items on Fion

Even when rich people were wearing a shirt they got from a roadside stall, people would still think they

were wearing something from a luxury brand.

However, when poor people wore authentic branded products, others would think it was fake produced

in a sweatshop.

It was evident that to them, Fion belonged to the latter category.

“My son–in–law bought it.”

Fion nodded as she smiled and spoke.

“Tsk, then you’ll have to get a good look at it. Fakes like these can be found everywhere.”

Ellen glanced at Fion as she spoke in a dismissive tone.

Finn leaned forward and looked at it for several seconds before he said with conviction, “It’s a fake.”

“See, even my son said so. This is a fake.”

“Gosh, Fion, the purpose of the class reunion is to catch up with each other.”

“You shouldn’t use fake luxurious items just because you want to seem better than us, don’t you

think?”

Ellen immediately grabbed the chance to begin talking non–stop.

A blush crept onto Fion’s face. Now, even she was suspicious that Sean had bought her a fake. 1

“Let’s eat.”

Finn spoke quietly and smoothed things over.

“It’s true that the consumption landscape in River City is not the best.”

“When I get the chance, I’ll…”

Finn did not get the chance to finish his sentence before the door opened abruptly.

“If you think this place is cheap, why didn’t you go to Riverleaf Lakeside Hotel?”

A mocking voice rang out slowly.

“Well said! I was just about to say that.”

A young man seated nearby.Willow immediately slapped the table. Was there anyone in River City who

didnot know that Riverlife Lakeside Hotel was thebest of the best in River City?Finn was the one who

had booked the privateroom at Green Hotel, but he was also theone who was being picky over

everything.Who the hell are you?Who let you into our room?Ellen immediately slapped the table and

thrust afinger at Sean as she yelled at him.Allow me to introduce myself.I am the owner of Green

Hotel.Additionally, I am Willow's boyfriend.Sean unbuttoned the top collar of his shirt ashe spoke in a

calm in different tone. The room fell deadly silent when he finished speaking.
