Madelyn was unsure whether the sound of the door opening woke Dalton up. He was awake when she entered the room. Upon seeing Madelyn, Dalton immediately scrambled up, his hands grasping the bed's side rails unsteadily as he stood up. He was reaching out for a hug with his cooing.
