Chapter 106:

Alice curled her lips into a satisfied smile as she accepted the money. Her bank account had seen a noticeable
increase, and she was smiling with pleasure.
Caden watched her intently, his thoughts drifting. He remembered the Bennett family's extravagant lifestyle,
where even their dog wore a gold chain. Then she married Joshua. Now she was delighted with such a paltry
sum.
Alice's mind returned to one thought. "You should have known that Mrs. Reyes was cheating on you, right?"
Caden just agreed.
Piqued by curiosity, he asked, “So how were you able to win?”
"| possess the ability to alter cards."
Alice opened her eyes in surprise. “You mean you can do magic? Like turning two into a three?”
Caden glanced at her. “Are you really takingat my word?”
Of course, he couldn't change the cards. He had simply figured out how women cheated and calculated the
odds, managing to win a few rounds by chance.
With a deadpan expression, he advised Alice, “You might want to consider getting shelp.”
Alicia was speechless, frustration flaring up. Clenching her jaw, she muttered a couple of curses under her breath
and walked away, clutching the hem of her dress.
Meanwhile, Rachel, eager to put things right, had been busy preparing lunch with top-quality ingredients.
Randolph returned, eager to share a drink with Caden.
“Mr. Ward, this is your first visit here. How did you like it? Did you enjoy it?” Randolph asked.
Caden declined the drink offered to him. With a neutral expression, | commented, “Mrs. Gray is admirable and
shrewd in business. “I have gained valuable knowledge today.”

At first, Randolph didn't get the sarcasm. His hand, still holding the drink, remained in the air until it dawned on
him.
She glanced accusingly at Rachel, whose expression had soured. “What have you done to Mr. Ward?”
Rachel's nerves were evident. "Randolph, it's all an misunderstanding."
Realizing that he had indeed upset Caden, Randolph slapped her with determination.
Alicia hadn't anticipated Randolph's explosive reaction. Her grip on her fork tightened instinctively. She couldn't
help but look at Rachel, who had been beaten by her husband in front of a crowd, covering her face as tears of
humiliation ran down her cheeks.
Randolph, however, remained unfazed. He continued to praise Caden as he downed a glass of wine in one gulp.
Caden frowned slightly. “Mr. Gray, please enjoy your meal. Don’t worry about me.”
The spectators whispered among themselves, the tension was palpable.
Alicia took a few bites of her food. Once Randolph and Rachel walked away, she slid into the seat next to Caden,
leaning in to whisper, “You're significantly younger than Randolph. Why does he seem so intimidated by you?”
Caden replied distantly, “He's not really afraid of me. “He just sees this as an opportunity to inflate his ego by
belittling a woman.”
Alicia recognized the pattern. Most men behaved like that. Rachel's affection only served to swell Randolph's
pride, making him feel like royalty. He truly believed he was something special.
"You know how Randolph is. Why do you provoke them?" Alice asked, her voice full of curiosity.
Caden glanced at her. “Are you sympathizing with Rachel again?”
Alice shook her head. “You seem rather unpleasant to me.”
“If I'm not unfriendly, then I'm naive,” Caden replied coldly. “Don’t forget the real reason you're here today.”
Alice was shocked. “How did you find out?”
Caden placed sfood on his plate and ate confidently, his expression unreadable. “What do | really know?”
Alicia was speechless. Although Caden didn't elaborate, his sly expression made her wonder if he was aware of
everything. Could he have realized that she was trying to get close to Rachel to find out secrets about Randolph?
With a puzzled look, Alice asked, "Did you study psychology abroad? The kind that allows you to read people's
thoughts just by looking at them?"
Caden replied with a perfectly straight face, “I have mastered the art of mind reading.”
Alice remained silent. She was half convinced and mentally cursed herself.
Then she challenged him: “So what were you thinking?”
"You referred toas an imbecile."
Now | felt admiration. “After all, mind reading really exists.”
He had read her thoughts accurately, not missing a single detail.
Caden remained unfazed as he gestured for a nearby maid to ccloser.
The maid cover and asked, “Mr. Ward, how may | help you?”
"Is there anything here that could improve intelligence?" He looked at Alice. "This lady could use quite a bit."

Caden glanced over. Ted was sitting next to Mrs. Reyes, enjoying the kebabs. Mrs. Reyes had him in her arms
and glanced in his direction.
Seeing Alicia enjoying her meal so effusively, Mrs. Reyes gritted her teeth in envy.
“Ted,” Ms. Reyes began, “if someone harassed me, would you defend me?”
Ted replied seriously, “Of course, Mommy! “You're my favorite.”
She leaned down and whispered in her ear, “So...”
