Chapter 47: ????? Caden jogged on the treadmill, fresh from a carsession. His damp hair was lightly sticking to his forehead, the sheen of sweat making him look even more self-assured and undeniably attractive.
As he was concentrating on running, he didn't notice them.
Alice quickly turned her head, lowering it as she said, "Let's eat. Stop staring." Still taking a moment to admire him, Monica finally asked, "Alicia, you and Caden haven't seen each other in years. There can't be any hard feelings left, right?" Alicia recalled recent encounters. "There are still a few left. He still hates me." Monica sighed. "Maybe we should think about finding another lawyer." "Because?" Monica decided to spare Alicia from feeling uncomfortable and brushed it off. "It doesn't matter. "I've spoken to my father and we won't be able to hire Mr. Benson." Knowing that this might happen, Alice agreed and said, "No problem. We'll think of something." Then she calmly went back to her food.
Monica's eyes wandered back to the gym across the street.
"Honestly, Caden's body is something else." Alicia didn't respond to that. Instead, she turned her gaze to Caden.
His training clothes fit tightly around his broad shoulders and well-defined muscles, showing off his strength and giving a sense of confidence that seemed effortless.
His waist was slim, with firm muscles that added to his athletic look.
Her long legs only enhanced the image, giving her a balanced and powerful presence.
Everything about his physique was almost flawless, from top to bottom.
As Alice continued to admire him, Caden seemed to catch her eye. He then looked straight at her.
Alice felt her heart skip a beat and quickly looked away. She cleared her throat, trying to sound nonchalant. “It's okay, I guess." Monica leaned over and whispered, "You know how guys like him always look so proper? In all the pictures on the news, all buttoned up and collected. I bet someone like him is wild when he's out of the spotlight. What do you think?" Alice paused for a moment.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtGentle? It wasn't the right word. His movements were nothing out of the ordinary.
But there was no denying that his strength was... overwhelming.
Monica smiled, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I've heard that a man with a strong nose is usually well endowed. What do you think? How tall do you think he is?" Alice was speechless once again.
Would this conversation ever end? He propped his chin on his hand, refusing to answer. Monica muttered, "Judging by his build, I'd say he's that big." He extended his hand in an exaggerated gesture.
Alice blinked, completely shocked. “It's ridiculous. It's not that big." Monica laughed, realizing her own exaggeration.
But then she realized that Alice had said something interesting. Squinting, she asked: “Wait, how do you know it's not that big?" Alice froze for a second.
I had measured it.
"Just a guess," he replied, blushing slightly. "You've gone too far." Fortunately, he managed to keep Monica away from the truth.
After all, who would suspect that she and Caden had slept together? Alice took another bite of her food.
But for sreason, the food didn't taste as good anymore.
The plate of food was steaming, but a strange chill ran down her spine.
She had the strange feeling that someone was watching her. When she turned to check, her eyes fell on a familiar figure standing by the door of a private room.
It was Joshua.
The recognition was immediate. He hadn't changed much physically, but there was something different about him. His eyes held a strange mix of resentment and nostalgia. It was a contradiction I'd never seen in him before.
Memories of the past flooded back into her mind, but the things he had done over the years had eroded any feelings she had once had. She didn't dwell on him. Her expression calm and distant, she turned back to her plate and continued eating.
Joshua had gone out to get something.
Joshua walked past the area and noticed Monica first, who made him pause for a moment before his eyes landed on Alicia.
Alice was the sas before, with no signs of change.
However, his gaze had becmuch colder.
There was a clear sense of disdain in his expression.
In response, Joshua gave a subtle smile.
He quickly turned his attention away and headed to his room without saying another word.
In her room, Lilliana sat comfortably.
She was having intense pregnancy cravings and had asked for something especially tasty to eat. After consuming a large meal and feeling extremely thirsty, Joshua had just cout to bring his favorite drink.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmLilliana immediately noticed a slight change in Joshua's demeanor.
"Are you okay?" I have asked. "Did you run into anyone you recognize?" Joshua looked down. "No.
Since the incident, Lilliana had becmore vigilant and distrustful.
His actions also began to be unpredictable. He felt exhausted from trying to deal with her suspicions and preferred to keep her away from Alicia.
However, Lilliana's keen instincts kept her on edge.
"Have you seen Alice around here?" he asked bluntly.
Joshua replied with a frown: "Stop making things complicated for yourself."
Convinced that he was hiding something, Lilliana replied, "Answer evasive? me. Why are you so evasive? After everything that's happened, are you still thinking about her?" Joshua frowned again.
He looked at her flat stomach and said, "Lilliana, you're still in the first trimester "Stressing yourself out will only make things worse."
Hearing his distant tone, Lilliana felt a sudden uneasiness. She realized that she had been too demanding lately, and Joshua's patience was wearing thin. His parents had just warned him that in his current situation he was at a disadvantage and needed to be more patient.
Everyone has a limit. And if she pushed him too hard, it would end badly for both of them.
To avoid this, she softened her approach, leaning into Joshua's embrace. "Okay, I won't ask any more." Joshua hugged her tightly.
At that moment, a loud commotion was heard outside. Joshua's instincts told him that Alicia was involved, so he got up to investigate.
As expected, a group of drunk men were harassing Alicia and Monica.
