Chapter 775 You're Overthinking It

"I understood every word you said, but I cant possibly live my life with memory loss. Plus,

you know the long-term effects if I do not opt for surgery." Alec examined Blake carefully

as though he suspected an ulterior motive.

Blake understood the necessity of the surgery, but she simply hoped that the surgery

could be delayed for a few months. She knew better than to say her thoughts aloud, so

she muttered, "I know. I'm just worried for you."

"Don't worry. My luck isn't that bad." He wouldn't go down before he could take over the

Faust family.

Blake didn't say a word because she knew that any objection would only irk him. Instead,

she turned her attention to Jenny.

On that afternoon, Jenny was surprised to find Blake at her office. "Miss Watkins, are you

here to talk to me?"

"Yes," Blake replied. Frowning, Jenny wanted to remind her that it was business hours, but

Blake said, "I'm the final patient on your list today. You don't have to worry about the next

patient." Then, she handed Jenny her queue number as proof.

Jenny glanced at it and found out that Blake had gone through the routine and lined up for

a medical consultation. She asked, "Are you feeling sick anywhere?"

"No. I'm here today to get answers to the case of my boyfriend, Alec Faust, " Blake went

straight to the point.

Jenny felt bothered by Blake's deliberate use of "boyfriend" to describe Alec, but she hid

her feelings well and answered, "I have briefed him on the surgery details. I believe he's

clear about it."

"Yeah, he is clear about the surgery, but I'm worried,' Blake replied, leaving Jenny

flabbergasted and speechless. She added, "Dr. Walter, are you confident about the

surgery?"

Frowning, Jenny explained, ’Any surgery comes with risk. No doctor can promise a 100%

success rate."

"Well, that's true. But Alec is important to me-he's my lover, and I hope to see him safe

and sound." Blake's impassionate confession evoked complex feelings in Jenny, who

remained silent. She didn't stop there. "I know his memory loss has always bothered you,

and you probably think he'd still be in love with you had he not lost his memories. Is that

why you're adamant about helping him restore his memories?"

Jenny finally showed hints of displeasure. "Miss Watkins, you're overthinking it."

"Is that so?" Blake sounded unconvinced. "The only way I'll admit I'm overthinking is that

you refuse to perform the surgery."

Jenny burst out in laughter at the absurdness of the situation. "Miss Watkins, Alec Faust is

the patient. If you are against the surgery, please change his mind instead of lecturing

me. He's the one who wanted the surgery. As his doctor, I can't sit back and watch his

condition deteriorate."

"That's not what I meant. I know the surgery is necessary. I just don't want you to be the

doctor in charge of his surgery," Blake announced, much to Jenny's dismay. She added,

"After all, you had had a complicated relationship with him. I'm concerned that you might

let your personal feelings interfere with the surgery, leading to a regrettable outcome."
