Skylar sneered and walked straight to the door.

There were far too many people who wanted to be his lapdog.

Just who was Harper?

He came to a halt as he approached the door. Then, he heard a shrill scream from behind him.

He didn’t have to look to know Dianne had killed Harper.

He took a few more steps when all of a sudden, from inside the villa, Adam ran after him.

“Mr. Stone!”

“I didn’t understand the situation at the time and spoke inappropriately. I sincerely apologize.”

“The Currey family has no intention of working with the Fox family.”

“The Fox family had offended you. The Currey family will cease all interactions with Malcolm from now

on.”

Adam’s eyes were filled with horror as he spoke.

He feared the Currey family would be caught in the crossfire.

Furthermore, he had wanted to wade through the murky waters before he even know who he was up

against.

How foolish of him.

Skylar looked at him and stated flatly, “I made a deal with the Fox family. It is none of my business

whether or not your family will maintain a relationship with Malcolm.”

Before Adam could respond, he led Dianne into the car and drove away.

For a while, Adam didn’t dare to move as he stood there in terror, watching the jeep drive away.

He could only hope that the Currey family would not be in Skylar’s bad books because of what had

happened today.

He had gotten close to him the last time he was in Atlas County, but it was all for naught now.

It appeared he would have to wait to try and make up for it with later opportunities.

Skylar, understandably, was unaware of Adam’s inner turmoil.

Even if he did know, he wouldn’t care.

Back at home, a little munchkin threw herself into his arms as soon as he walked through the door.

“Daddy, you’ve returned! Mommy has been waiting by the window for you for a long time!” Lola spoke

in a childish tone.

Yulia quickly denied it, saying, “I… I didn’t!”

Skylar embraced Lola in his arms, smiled at Yulia, and said, “Dear, has anyone told you that you will

blush each time you tell a lie?”

When Yulia heard this, her already hot cheeks took on the appearance of an incredibly ripe,

mouthwatering peach.

“I was simply admiring the view outside the window. Is that not possible?”

Yulia continued to deny it.

“Sweetheart, which window was Mommy standing at just now?” Skylar asked Lola, suppressing a

smile.

“The one by the sink,” the little girl said, pointing in the direction of the kitchen.

“Oh?”

Skylar cast a deliberate glance at Yulia and said, “It appears that the only view there is of the one path

that I can take to return home.”

“Yes! That’s correct. You’re a genius, Daddy. Mommy is just too worried about you, and wants to be the

first one to see you home.” Lola immediately clapped her hands as she exclaimed happily.

Yulia blushed, and the corners of her mouth twitched.

Damn it! She couldn’t deny it now.

Skylar was in complete bliss as he gazed at Yulia, who was both shy and slightly irritated.

He was about to say something nice when he remembered Lola’s wish, so he softly said into Yulia’s

ear, “Dear, Lola told me today that she wants a younger sister to play with her.”

“Do you think her wish will come true?”

Lola leaped into Skylar’s arms as soon as she heard it.

“Mommy! Mommy! I really want a younger sister who I can go to school with, take baths with, and sleep

with.”

“Daddy said that he cannot agree to this on his own. He said you had to agree as well.”

“Can you and Daddy then give me a little sister?”
