Last night, I didn't sleep at all.
Money could make the world go round. During this special time, Douglas employed sunconventional methods. Those who could be bribed would always be open to bribery.
I negotiated with everyone on the list provided by Neal, and I grasped the information I wanted. Claudia pulled Daniel's catheter during his dialysis. Calling her methods cruel would be an understatement. Nicholas forced a bitter smile as if there was nothing left for him to prepare.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Just tell me," he urged.
I had never felt this conflicted before. Should Claudia remain by Nicholas's side? He had fallen ill and needed care. He was no longer the brother who could protect her at all times. Would she never give up on him? A string of questions raced through my mind. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I couldn't answer them.
I looked at Nicholas calmly. "Nicholas, tell me, are you doing well now? With Claudia by your side, do you feel more at ease?" I thought the answers to these questions could only cfrom him. I had said that as long as he wanted to keep living, everything could be his choice.
Nicholas looked up in surprise as if his heart was being struck heavily. He felt an inexplicable tension. He had no idea why I was asking these things, but surely, it was intentional.
He knew I hated Claudia. He knew I had framed Frances. But could I really despise him so much as to drive away everyone around him? He didn't know how I could be so cruel.
His eyes were filled with surging anger. He had lost Daniel, Frances was also imprisoned, and I divorced him. And now, as he thought of Claudia's handcuffs, he realized I wouldn't even spare her. His hollow eyes darkened, and he muttered an irrelevant statement.
"You're the wild wolf I raised." The wild wolf he had raised was now out to kill him, to devour him.
Glancing around the conference room, Nicholas curled his lip into a mocking smirk. "What difference does it make if I'm at ease or not?" "It doesn't. I just need an answer." His response would determine my next words.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmNicholas frowned. "Does it matter?" I couldn't bear his bleak gaze and slowly closed my eyes. "Yes." He scoffed. "I know you don't like Claudia, and I know you have the power to do something. Would you really do nothing just because of my words? "Ariana, I'm not a child anymore. I know you didn't callhere to console me, so just spit it out. Whatever you have to say, I'll handle it." After Nicholas finished speaking, his chest heaved violently. His body trembled uncontrollably. He felt that semotions were beyond his control, and his voice grew louder.
"Hurry up!"
He was about to leave. He couldn't stay here any longer. He couldn't afford to show his vulnerability in front of me. I was startled by Nicholas's sudden
outburst and felt a bit dazed. I pressed a hand against my belly and let out a wry laugh. Just the mention of Claudia had triggered such a reaction. So be it.
"I think you should take a look at this." I slid a folder across the table toward Nicholas "Daniel's death wasn't an accident. This is Frances's testimony." RULE #1 choose married women They have reason to keep things secret, as do you.
