Chapter 40 Make Her Apologize to Bronte Not long after, the fashion show kicked off. It was streamed live on all sorts of platforms.
Every outfit Tiffany designed was a hit, getting tons of praise. Sophia's performance, in particular, blew up online with nothing but positive comments, making her the talk of the town.
The event went off without a hitch, right up to the end. Tiffany got interviewed by all the big media outlets, and her studio's popularity shot through the roof.
Everything seemed perfect, but the next day, a new headline popped up: #SophiaBrownTheHarpy. It quickly beca trending topic.
When Tiffany checked her phone first thing in the morning, the intewas already buzzing with hate. She listened to the recording, which had been twisted to make it sound like Sophia was swearing. The only person who could've recorded it was Bronte! Sophia's rivals jumped at the chance to drag her down, and one hit piece after another cout. Even Sophia's smallest actions were blown out of proportion, and people were tearing her apart.
[I never thought someone so pretty could be so nasty behind the scenes!] [It's really unlucky to be a fan of someone like this. How did she even get famous?] [Finally, someone agrees with me. I always thought she was overrated. It was just because of a dress.] The video was swamped with negative comments, and Tiffany quietly turned off her phone. She felt guilty, but the only person who could clear Sophia's nquickly was Leon.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtTiffany didn't want to see Leon, but she couldn't let Sophia take the fall for something that wasn't her fault. She had to do something.
She took a deep breath and drove to Leon's company. The receptionist recognized Tiffany and let her through without a fuss.
Inside the office, Hugo was going over Leon's schedule. Tiffany barged in, her eyes locked on Leon.
"Miss Grey, if I remember right, our collaboration is over," Leon said coldly, his face blank.
"Mr. Cooper, I need your help with that trending recording. Sophia needs to be cleared." Tiffany's fists were clenched, her stance firm.
Leon sneered and waved Hugo away, leaving just him and Tiffany in the room.
"On the day of the event, Miss Brown did say snasty things. Looks like she wasn't wronged," Leon said, resting his chin on his interlaced fingers, looking indifferent.
"Can't you tell it was edited?" Tiffany snapped. Leon knew the truth but was playing dumb. "Leon, Sophia stood up forand got into it with Bronte. If you want revenge, cat me. Sophia's worked hard for her career. Are you really going to ruin it for Bronte?" Tiffany's words only made Leon angrier. "She stood up for you, so she should know who she was messing with! Miss Langley is my friend. Should she be slandered by Sophia? Do you not have any ill will towards Miss Langley? Tiffany, who do you think you are? Why should I help you?" The word "friend" from Leon's mouth stung Tiffany. Now she remembered Leon had said he liked Bronte that day; she was a fool to believe he would help her before she chere today.
"Leon, she started it..." Tiffany's voice was small, but she knew Leon heard it.
To get to the bottom of it, they could just pull the surveillance footage from the event, but Tiffany didn't have that kind of power. On the other hand, Leon had the power to access the footage, which was why Tiffany cto him for help.
"Tiffany! I know what kind of person Miss Langley is, and I know what kind of person you are, so adjust your attitude when asking for help," Leon said, his voice tinged with anger.

Tiffany stayed quiet, thinking, 'Does he really know what kind of person Bronte is? If he knew about her past, would he still like her?' Back in the day, Bronte used to copy her, and over time, she got a reputation as a poor imitator. Even though Tiffany hadn't been in touch with Bronte since leaving Harmony City, she still heard rumors about Bronte's antics.
If Leon did sdigging, he'd know what Bronte was really like! But clearly, he had no intention of doing that. He didn't even know Bronte well enough to compare her to Tiffany! "Leon, what will it take for you to check the surveillance footage and clear Sophia's name?" Tiffany asked, not wanting to waste any more time. The intemoved fast, and Sophia's endorsements could be pulled any day now.
"Apologize to Miss Langley. If she accepts, I'll handle it," Leon said slowly, his fingers tapping the keyboard, not even looking at Tiffany.

Leon stayed silent, which was answer enough. Tiffany laughed bitterly. If she'd known this would be the outcome, she wouldn't have cto Leon. She might as well find another way.
"Leon, if you're going to take Bronte's side and refuse to investigate, then pretend I never cto you!" With that, Tiffany turned and left.
The Leon she knew, though eccentric, always stayed rational and never wronged anyone. Would he really break this principle for Bronte? But since Bronte was the one he liked, it made sense that Leon would choose to protect her. Tiffany felt frustrated. As she left, Leon's face turned cold. He actually understood the underlying meaning of Tiffany's words and knew it was likely that y that Bronte had deliberately edited the recording. But he just wanted to teach Tiffany a lesson. He still remembered what Tiffany had said on the day of the event. Back at the hotel, Tiffany sighed, feeling dejected, with Sophia lying beside her. "I'm fine, Tiffany. The more popular you are, the more controversies you attract. As long as I make a mistake, people will rush to smear me. This has nothing to do with you," Sophia said, smiling and trying to comfort Tiffany.
Her schedule had been halved over the past two days, giving her a chance to relax.
"But the facts are being twisted, and it's not your fault. Leon even wantsto apologize to Bronte. Is he and crazy?" Tiffany was still fuming and kept venting Sophia. Their to Con was overheard by Sam nearby. He cursed his dad for being foolish. Offending Sophia would make it impossible to reconcile with Tiffany in the future! Sam sighed and realized he needed Barry's help. He ran back to his room and quickly messaged Barry: [Barry, save Sophia!] At the Cooper Mansion, in the study, Leon received a video from his secretary, showing the surveillance footage from that day. The distance was too far to hear their conversation, but Bronte deliberately blocking Tiffany and her smug expression were clearly visible to Leon.
He closed the video, feeling a headache. Was Bronte really that woman? Leon had doubted before, but the investigation results and Bronte's clear recounting of that night all pointed to her.
But ever since he knew that woman was Bronte, why did he still feel empty inside?
